    Shows as Phoenix, AZ on caller ID. I don't answer and the caller leaves no message. Must not be important!

    The person told my husband that I agreed to pay them money for something and he hung up on them. When I called the number back  the number came back disconnected.

    I got a call from this number on my cellphone, the caller never stated his name, but asked for me by my name, I said "yes" then he hung up.  

    Could this call be part of an identity theft scam?

    Or are they verifying my phone number for a calling list they will sell to other telemarketer scams? --even though I'm already on the national "Do not call" list

    When I called back, I got a recording that said "the Phone number or Code you had dialed is not correct"
