Caller id says "Rewards Dept", recorded call say I won a gift card to Walmart but need to pay a ?2.98 shipping fee and should have m7y credit card ready.

Walmart gift cards if you take a survey

Just got a call. Caller I'd says rewards department. A recording says a family member was recently on an affiliate website & will get 2 $25 gift cards to Walmart but that there is a $2.95 shipping charge & to have my credit card ready. To press 1 to speak to the shipping department. Sounded scammy so I prseed 1 to get more info, a man with an accent asked who he had the pleasure of speskimg with, I said that's what I'd like to know, you called me & he hung up! Definitely a scam. Probably to obtain credit card info.

This is definitely a phone phishing scam. I found the following info on Walmart's corporate web site:

"Walmart will never ask you to e-mail personal information such as passwords, social security number, bank account details, credit card numbers, or other financial information nor will Walmart make unsolicited calls asking for such information. However, for fraud prevention purposes, Walmart may ask for you to verify personal information such as address or telephone number, which you have previously provided."

I just got a call from the same number. Someone with a foreign accent (Indian) told me that I win 2 $25 gift cards and in order to receive them I need to provide a credit card or checking account information to pay for the shipping that costs $2.95. I had the brilliant idea to check online for any complaint related to this scam. And I found this webpage. I just hung with them and called back with my brother's number. Someone picked up and told my brother right away that he also won 2 $25 gift cards after he completed a survey. My brother said that he have never completed a survey with wal-mart.. Definitely it is a SCAM...

Caller ID was Rewards.. Picked up to a recording in a "Disney USA Style " dialect  saying that as we were a "Valued" Wal-Mart Customer we will receive two $25 gift cards. Press one to complete a survey.. ... Man with a ( Indian or [***]  ) accent starts off with Hello, who am I speaking with ? ( Which I "knee jerked " and gave him ) Then he asked for the shipping information ,  address and credit card , at which point  my built in  SCAM alarm went off and I stalled.. I asked why and he said there was a $4.00 shipping charge so " Naturally ' he would need the card info.. I told him that I knew it was a SCAM and to stick the cards where  " the sun don't shine"    Thing is , I was in wal Mart yesterday and bought a Water Pik... so I was really caught off guard.   The telephone number on my ID was  618 551 5507

i just got phone call 4845895538.same as everyone else but they wanted 4.95 for s&h.. i NEVER give my info to anyone so i told them sorry i dont want it and hung up.SCAM.yesterday it was 6265445533 that called n 3days ago was510 535 92192.with reward scam
