I keep getting calls on my land line from the Oregon number but my line is set to not take messages so I don't have to deal with unsolicited callers; however, today I got a text on my cell phone telling me that my First Light Federal Credit Union card had been cancelled.  They left their El Paso TX number 915-485-7256.  I don't have an account with these scammers.  Interesting that this entity sponsors the Bowl game being played here on Saturday.  Great civic responsibility...I want this federal bank reported to the FDIC or whoever regulates banks.  Sleazy!

I got a text from this number telling me to call a local bank at a number that doesn't belong to the bank.  Both this and the other number are Harshad numbers, are the scammers picking them on purpose or just lucking into that?

Scammers at as credit union said my card is deactivated. I'm not a member of a credit union.

Same text just received re: cancelled credit union card and I don't have a credit union card. Who can we contact to report these scammers?

I just got a text from this number as well... the text tells me that my account with a local bank had been deactivated and that I should call this local number right away... The local number is a AT&T cell number, my son has the same exchange. Not only do I not have an account with this bank I hold no credit cards at all. I sent an email to my local sheriffs office in hopes of them get this stopped in our town!

This number is a SCAM.....

Received the same txt with a message needing to call a number immediately. I happen to work in a state office shared with a district attorney and intend to share these numbers with him. Jan 13, 2012

EPPICARD ALERT: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 727-322-3441.

I have no idea what an eppicard is!!!

Got a text from this # that my credit card from ____________   ___________ credit union had been canceled and to call 731--215-7163! I do not have a card with that credit union!

Total Scam. I don't have a VCCU card / account.

this number tells me i have a c.u card.. asking my info. i do not have anything to do with this..or who it is.

On Fri 1/13/12, at abt 8:40 pm ~ Got the EXACT same Text message: Alert! the VC Credit Union had de-activated my card; and to call 503-438-9427. Oddly, I had been there, just before closing!

I literally just got this text and decided to Google it to see how many others had received it (knowing for sure it's a scam):  "THE CREDIT UNION CENTER ALERT: Your CARD starting with ****has been DEACTIVATED.  Please contact us at 727-466-5317."  Seriously?  Received 8:02pm (Florida time) on Saturday, 1/14/12.  What is with this kind of garbage?

I just received the exact same message as Kel's (the post before mine), tonight, only 1 hour later at 9:02pm. Weird! I think someone is just phishing for information & hoping to get lucky. They won't be getting a phone call from me!

Undoubtedly a scam.

I deleted the message. Don't even like having it on my phone.
