Got a phone call from an out-of-state number
that I don't "know" or recognize.  
I didn't answer, but looked up the number here.
They left no message.  

I am on the National Do-Not-Call List,
and have been for over a year now.  
(I guess this is our government at work for us.)  

I'm going to http://www.fcc.gov/complaints 
AND to https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx 
and see if that can get the government
to work for me, and stop these calls.  
(Yes I will go through all those steps.)  
We should all pile on.

I got a call from this number just now.  I'm on Pennsylvania's DO NOT CALL list.  It was a recording, offering to reduce my local electric company rates.  The recording invites you to press a button to be put on THEIR do not call list (though I have no such responsibility since THEY are the ones with the legal obligation to check my state's overriding list for my number in the first place).  The recording also offers for you to press "5" to speak with a live representative.  I pressed "5" and spoke with a lady named "Jamie."  She confirmed my phone number.  I asked to confirm her number.  She hung up on me.  I dialed *69 and got this number.

The DO NOT CALL registry is a waste of time.

This Call Blocking software works and is free.

It uses ".CSV" files to block telemarketer phone numbers;
a .CSV file allows over 65,00 entries rather than the 30 or so offered by the phone company.

Phonetray will block by partial number, such as that (503) area code;
block using  "(503)-???-????".

It will also block by name : "City Services",  "Unavailable",  etc.;
you don't need the telemarketer's phone number.  The phone company doesn't offer that feature.

And ( this is an election year ) it will block POLITICAL calls.

This company city services keeps calling from the west coast regarding my Com Ed service.  I keep siginaling to stop calling I am not interested talking to someone in Washington state regarding my Com-Ed service.  They will not stop calling and I have been on the do-not-call list since the start.  This sounds like a scam to me also....

I have been getting calls by this number also.  What pisses me off is that they will call my house at 8:00 at night and then it wakes up the baby.
