Got a call on Oct 7, 2014 at 10:24 am from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, in regards to Windows 7. They said my mother's computer had downloaded viruses. My mom's computer is not connected to the internet and that I own the one that is. They wanted me to go to my computer, and from what I read online, I bet they wanted me to go to their website and download something to "help" get rid of the virus, and then I would pay them cash for a fake service. I cut them off when they asked me to go to the computer and told them, "remove me from your calling list and any other business lists you have me on" and hung up, then I reported them to a phone scam site. The caller sounded like a mature man from India but when I dialed star six nine, the phone voice said the number was different than that of my caller ID. Caller ID said the number was 120220404841508-2574621. I hope they get caught.

I received the same type call but the Indian had a very heavy accent and couldn't articulate nor seemed to be able to properly communicate in English. He tried the same nonsense as you described and I cut him off just before letting them take control of my computer. People/companies like this need to be stopped and the principals thrown away in some deep India dungeon and feed them solely pork and never add any curry.
