- LarryIRS Scammers from overseas. Middle East would be a great spot for an atomic bomb explosion and rid the workd of those [***] maggots.
- Lizzie replies to Kelly WalkerJust got a phone call saying they are the IRS and they are going to sue because of owing them money. My phone number is unlisted. Call is awful. The number is an area code from Washington or in Canada.
- Alvarez| 1 replyDidn't answer. However, they left a voicemail which seems to be prerecorded.
- Debra| 1 replyFirst they called and left a message saying I was being sued by the IRS. I called them back and they had my name and address and told me they did an audit on my taxes and I owe them over $4000. I told them I don't believe that as I have my taxes done by a tax person and they told me that it was my responsibilty to make sure my taxes were done right and if I didn't pay up they would send "the authorities" to my house and take away my car and all my belongings. I told them I would call them back after I looked into it more. They insisted that I cannot call the IRS back and that I need to make arrangements "now"! I hung up.
- Caller: "IRS"
- AnonymousReceived V/M that we are being sued by the IRS. Called this "unknown" number back...509-588-7318. It is a scam....ridiculous! The IRS, as I understand, never call. I feel sorry for the people that fall victim to this scam.

- MikeNo one in my home files taxes anymore b/c we are retired. They called on my land line ( which is unlisted ) the only number I ever used on my tax returns was my cell .When I laughingly asked how much I owed they said 5,900 dollars. When I asked for what tax year they were calling about there was a long pause. When I asked for the name of the agent to whom I was speaking and for permission to record the call, they hung up. Hmmm.
- Caller: Internal Revenue Service

- DeniseThey called my mother and said there was an issue with her 2008 taxes. She is 81 years old and suffers from early Alzheimers :( Thankfully she called me and asked what she should do (after she talked with someone who said they would send someone out to her place).
Total SCAM!! I told her to hang up on them or to tell them she would refer them to her lawyer. Not sure which she will remember if they show up. Just praying she doesn't let them into her senior living building. - LJ| 1 replySCAM! They told me my father owed $3,000 to the IRS and then asked me for his phone number. I told them I would not give them his information because I didn't believe they were really the IRS. To that they replied, "You don't believe me? Wait and see what happens to you in an hour!" and then hung up on me. I guess they were trying to scare me? These people are disgusting.
- Shannon replies to LJThank you (all) for taking the time to post so we can avoid these [***]. I received the same call this morning at 7:15 a.m. (too early for any business, even the IRS was warning #1) and it was clearly an automated voice mail (warning #2). My gut said SCAM but always reassuring to see others share their experience and know for sure.
- JB replies to DebraI received the same message. I called Tax Payer Advocate Service in my area ... and left them a message re this call & to please give me a call back.
