Be prepared...they say they are DEA...NOT.....it is. Scam...went thru Dallas police dept. and in mn...it is a scam....be wary

Just received a call from an Officer Harrigan stating that I would need to Western Union $2500 immediately to keep from being arrested for an online order placed 3.5 years ago. I have a call into my local police dept to determine if this is real.

I've reversed searched this number and it's registered in CA as a landline and NOT the DEA.

Received a call from this number.  DEA Officer Harrigan said within 15 minutes, local officers will be coming to arrest me. He read an address that I supposedly live at that is absolutely wrong. ((The only thing that was right was that I'm in NJ) He read off some sort of a "docket" number that I have to give to my attorney:  "846/34967/CPLK889" and said if I'm innocent, I would have nothing to worry about. Then he hung up abruptly.   I called back & got him on the phone.  I told him I had my credit card number stolen once.  He didn't believe me & said it was my fault & he would see me in court. Anyone else have such an exchange w/ Officer Harrigan ??  This is rediculous!

Oh, he also gave me his badge#  849364 !

Received a call from this number with an officer Thomas Harrigan from the DEA stating I would be spending time in jail for ordering diet supplements online 3.7 years ago. The supposed DEA officer suggested that this would be dismissed if I was able to Western Union 10% of the $25,000 fee. He also suggested that he'd put a stall on my arrest by telling the arresting officer NOT to come to my home to arrest me if I would pay this fee. I suggested he send the officer so I would know that this wasn't a scam. BEWARE! This is a DEFINITE SCAM for sure! It's also been reported to the REAL DEA!

Sure did! Got the same story about being arrested. What a bunch of scumbags these folks are. Here is additional info I found thru further research. This info has also been given to Clark Howard and the real DEA.

I have heard of this before so I asked if he minded if I record the call. He said no and that he was also recording. I told him that I knew there were people impersonating DEA agents and that he could go to prison for doing so. He mumbled a few words I could not understand and then hung up. Do not be fooled by these criminals!

He tells people that they owe large amounts of money and the only way they wont go to jail is to send a portion of the money via Money Tree to him and he will call the fines even and they wont go to jail. Mar 10th 2011 - 2:52:50am PST person called me with the name of craig miller claiming i took out an online loan with cashnet.com and that i never made a payment on it. i never took out such a loan in the time frame i had to ask a million questions to have answered. i was told that i would be sued and put in jail if i didnt take care of it. the amount somehow doubled. i gave the caller some info before coming to my senses. the caller had an arabic accent. he was very rude and demanding. i hope these harassing a holes get what they deserve and stop the crap. i googled the phone number and it seems im not the only one that has had this crap happen to them. i hope they dont get into my banking acct and steal money from me and my family since our internet security obviusly sucks in this country.

My friend call frantically needing money because an agent from the DEA was going to arrest her for some on line order of diet pills (FEN FEN) over 3.5 years ago, the agent Officer Thomas Harrigan would allow a grace period of 15 minutes before he would send officer to arrest her so she could meet him at a downtown location with 2500.00, and she was to call no one! the very same phone call you received, with the same problem with address, I went down to our local police station too report it. when I told him that I would go down and turn myself in right after I got off work, He did'nt want me to do that and told me that I had to take off work right that minute and wire the 2500.00 right then,and when I told him I didn't have that kind of money he told me to wire 10% so it would have been 250.00 I really hope these people get caught.

My wife got one of these calls today (March 20, 2012) and called me in a state of terror because the caller said she had bought prescription drugs online illegally in 2007, and that he was sending a unit over to arrest her now.

She did not remember the name, but I got the Oakland, CA telephone number, 1-510-567-4500 off the Caller I.D., and heard the guy's voice mail in which he states in an ominous voice with a pronounced Hispanic accent that he is "Officer Thomas Harrigan at District Headquarters."  I left a message saying that I know who he really is and what he is doing, that he is attempting to extort money from people and using an instrument of interstate commerce (the phone lines) to do it, and that this is a criminal R.I.C.O. violation under Title 18 of the United States Code, and that the authorities are coming for him.

My wife is already on a list of victims who receive updates by mail from the U.S. Attorney in the District of Massachusetts, who is prosecuting one of the online pill sellers.  What the pill sellers have done is sell off their inactive customer contact lists (name, telephone number, and address) to extortionists who terrorize people in this way.  This is the second time this has happened to her, but she still panicked.  Fortunately I am a criminal defense attorney, so her natural impulse was to call me.  I suspected that it was the same scame, different fake cop name and phone number (last time it was a guy who claimed to be FBI).  I immediately determined that she has no warrants.

The "Call Type" selection below did not have a listing for "Extortion" or "Criminal Enterprise" or anything else really appropriate, so I selected "Prank Call."

Just received a call from said D.E.A. agent.  got the number off my caller ID and found this site online.  Why can't we catch this guy - Where are you Mister Policeman?

Just got a call from this same number stating he was DEA, etc, etc, same as the people above. Did not call him back. Don't be scammed or scared by this guy!

Just received a call from an Officer Harrigan. 5105674500 ext 2884. Im not calling back after all I have read on here. He called 3 times a minute apart and last call he finally left a message. Sounded like a young american guy.

Just received a phone call from this officer harrigan. from 1-510-725-4005 ext 2884.. same thing said i had 2 choices to go to jail or pay a fine of 1800.00.  also told me that he had to stay on the phone with me until i sent the money from western union.  told him i had to get dressed and he said just put the phone down.  i then called the local police station and reported the phone call.  i asked if they wanted me to bring the information to the station, the officer had said no that there is no way to track the phone numbers.  also they constantly change phone numbers.

Oh he also gave the prosecutors name of Karen Tandy

I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW MANY PEOPLE THEY SCARE INTO DOING THIS.

I got the same call yesterday from 1-507-216-5298 said I had to pay $1800.00 to western union or be put in jail. He sounded so legitimate and it freaked me out. I didn't keep talking to him and he called back and I didn't answer. To tell you the truth I almost believed him. I have called our local police and they are coming to take a report.

I forgot to put in the number he told me and that was 510-7254005 but I did right down the one he called from. Linda
