Asked for me by name.  He asked if he pronounced my name right.  Was very pleasant at first.  He started off the conversation by asking for the lawyer I retained for charges against me.  When I told him he was full of it, he became irate.  I have dealt with these people before.  They have all your personal information.  They tell you that you have a payday loan in default and unless you settle with them over the phone, they will have you arrested.  I filed a police report with my local PD and a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.  When I told him I had done so, he began yelling at me that this is the first contact by him so that was impossible.  Then yelled that he would send the cops out after me.  I told him to go ahead and have a good day.  I have no pending litigation against me, no criminal charges against, or any payday loans in default.  He hung up on me.  Legitimate debt collectors do not behavior like this.  At no time did he identify himself or the company he represented.  

Caller Christine said my 84 yr. old husband owed  $1600.00 for an online loan & if he didn't pay it the police would arrest him & take him to Lawrence County Pa. jail. He would have to post a $7000.00 bond or he would have to stay in jail. I told them that would be impossible because he has a serious illness & it on oxygen 24 hrs. a day. The hag said well they have medical facilities there. Said they worked for a lawyer Joseph Milner. The call came from 510-662-1388 Sobrante, California. They must be real lowlife. Marge

I received a call from Joseph and milner associates they told me they were charging me with federal cayday loanof 200 dollars and I had to pay 8000 dollars or they were filing federal charges because it sopposably was in 2011 they have electronic paper work and bank info please help

There are hundreds of these scams going around at the moment. Feel free to tell them to 'foxtrot Oscar' if they call you again. Then ignore them. It's a pile of cr@p.

They just called me with identical crap. I feel sorry for the people they break.

The caller from this number identified herself as a County Attorney from the State of Nebrasdka  this number Area Code is from California - she scammed me.

Got the call. Woman asked me who my criminal attorney was (a scare tactic - don't fall for it). Claimed that if I didn't give them $1700 that they would arrest me on Class E felonies of check and wire fraud for a Payday loan from 2011. Now I did have a loan and I did pay it off. Keep that documentation kids because these trolls are looking for people who had these loans-all this is available with a few Google searches.  I played along for awhile. Asked lots of questions about names, company, websites, etc.

This woman said that she was signing off on my affidavit (that just doesn't make sense). The woman on the line claimed to be with a Chief Controller of a group called CDI in California.  Claimed I owed this to AML Consulting who was a parent company to Bottom Dollar. I googled CDI and AML Consulting and they don't have a digital footprint (Strike 1).  Also this person would not give me this information in writing to confirm this was a legitamite debt unless I gave over payment (strike 2).  And loans are a civl matter, not a criminal matter and a NO ONE IS GOING TO CALL YOU TO SAY THEY ARE GOING TO ARREST YOU...ever!!! (Srike 3). I stayed on the phone to gather as much info as I could then I reported it to the Police and my state's Attorney General's office.
