Unsolicited call to lower interest rate.

Just received call from this number.  No one spoke on the other end before it hung up on me.

Just got a call on this number to my mobile phone.   I tried calling it back from a landline and to a recording "the number you have dialed is not in service" so it's probably a "spoof" number and a spam call.

This unfamiliar number just called me.  I did not answer, and a 1 second blank voicemail was left on my phone.  Added number to block list, it is spam.

A friend posted this on facebook......if any of you receive a call from (510) 682-4342, do not answer. It is a recording talking about your credit card, it then tells you to press one to speak to a live person. I did so to tell them to remove my number, the man then started saying extremely vulgar sexual things to me, and saying things about us and our neighbors. Super creepy and scary.

Did not answer as any area number that I do not recognize is usually a telemarketing call or a scam call.

They called my cell and I let it go to voicemail. No message, but they called back SIX MORE TIMES. Blocked, both on cell and office phones. Jerks.

NEVER push a button or call a number or anything else. Any interaction confirms you are a "live" number and they'll never leave you alone. They'll most likely sell your information to the thousands of other jerks just like themselves. See this article (applies to any telemarketing call, not just credit cards):

Telemarketer = Lower credit card interest/payment
Something along the lines of "We're calling you regarding your credit card bills. There's no problem, we just want to help lower the interest and your monthly payments".

Scam.

Just out of curiosity, I pressed 1 (before I had read the post above about not pressing 1). The man answering said that he could lower my interest rates and I asked for which card. "Ummm, your Capital One card." I told him I don't have a Capital One card (as I don't). He said, "yes you do. I can see you do" and he then hung up.

Solicits credit cards. Held for operator to take me off the call list. Sounded like a call center in India. I asked for to be removed from the call list and they hung up.

Received call on cell phone, which is registered on the Do Not Call List.
