Some Indian accented man is calling every 30 minutes claiming there is some legal claim against me. Wish I could blow out their ear drums with a really loud air horn.

Same thing here... has called before, but very difficult to understand.  Pretty sure it is a scam.

Calls began at 8:47 a.m. and have been calling every 45 minutes since.  Call is recorded and person speaking has thick accent that is difficult to understand.   They threaten legal action and say it is important to call them back.  Clearly not a legitimate call.

They called me too. Said his name is D. Martin. I'm sure it's a scam.

Same - every 30 minutes or so a man with a heavy accent leaves a message.  I can't understand the whole thing but something about a claim against me from the US Treasury, this will be considered my second notice.  Very annoying.

Same thing this morning...2 calls within 10 minutes left voice mail on first call saying he was acting on behalf of US Treasury and that an error in my '09 taxes caused a warrant to be issued for my arrest, if I didn't speak with him about it the warrant would be transferred to local authorities, i answered second call and told him he must have wrong number and he said my name and address...which is public record because listed in phone book.  He hung up when I went on and on about I didn't believe it and he said I would be arrested soon then and hung up.

Wife started getting calls from this number today at 9:00am EST about every 45min. It's an auto call that explains to call them back, they are from the US Treasury etc. My wife called back on the 3rd call to ask to be removed from their list etc. They went on to explain due to some issue she was not able to understand due to their accents that she would be arrested in 45min. She laughed at them and hung up.

I just received the same call from J. Martin. I called the number (510) 863-7037. This person was Indian and very hard to understand. He said I owned back taxes and that I would be arrested. When I asked for copies of correspondence from the IRS he said "it went to your CPA". Called my CPA who said any correspondence with the IRS would be mailed to me directly. When I asked "what am I supposed to do" he became irate and said "they are coming now to arrest you". Really scared me but now I know its a scam. Weird thing is that he did not ask for money.

Well it seems like Mr. Martin has been a busy guy this morning. I also received 2 calls back to back with a VM being left after the first one. This guy has scammed a couple people in my hometown in the last few months. Each of them are unable to get the $ back unless he is caught because they authorized the electronic transfer from their account. The IRS/US Treasury will never call you and ask for money. You will always be contacted in writing!

Just received a call from a Steve Martin with a foreign accent claiming Grand Jury actions against me. I asked him what I needed to do. All he said was that he was just informing me and that I would be arrested in the next 45 minutes. That time has come and gone. Weird!

Also here, 3 calls in the last hour. Wonder how long ago Amanda's neighbors got scammed?

Got a call from this number.....man with an Indian accent said he was with US Dept. of Treasury his name was Dean Martin.  Called the number back.  Different man said a warrant was issued for my arrest for an unpaid claim on an IRS 2011 tax return for $3750.  Gave me a case number AD87652459.   Sounds like it is a scam.......

 

A message was left on our home phone by a man D or Steve Martin?? with an Indian accent claiming to be with the US Treasury and that ignoring the call would lead to criminal charges. I returned the call from my office and refused to give him my home phone. I asked him how I might know whether he is who he says he is. I couldn't really understand his response after repeating it 3-4 times. He finally hung up.

busy guy.  Same call twice in LA area.  This is why I no longer answer my phone.  I don't know how people can be so stupid when this happens all the time.  What a laugh.

This clown called my boss and told him that he owed $9,000 and that there was a detective on his way over to arrest him and there was nothing he could do except make a credit card payment over the phone.  that was apparently the only way to "stop the arresting officer."  He had a thick Indian accent and identified himself as something James.  Once he arrived at the office, my boss was scolded for asking the office manager to call his CPA.  My boss was told it was illegal to consult with 3rd parties.  After looking on the IRS website, it seems that this guy does everything the opposite of how the IRS actually does it.  (I believe that if you get hit by the tax man, you never see it coming).

Four calls for me this morning from Steve Martin at 510-863-7037. I must have done something really awful to get four calls! The calls are so obviously fake that no rational person could take them seriously. I wonder how they make any money. There must be some truly gullible folks out there.

I received three calls this morning (9:22, 10:14, 10:39) from this guy Steve Martin.
He said same line, federal offense against me, grand jury etc.

We're getting the same guy too...three times this morning.  I can't believe people fall for this stuff when it so clearly seems illegitimate.  Thankfully my phone has the option to block numbers.  Goodbye D Martin!!

One was a month or so ago and another was several months ago. They actually were told they had to pay or they would be arrested. Each of them paid close to $500.00.
