is this Company connected to Microsoft?

Neither Microsoft nor its partners woulde ever 'phone.  Check out the Microsoft website for details of the long running, worldwide, scam.  These people 'phone and tell you that your computer has been reporting viruses or bad files (lies).  They will even tell you that they know it is your computer as they can give you the "unique" number which you can check.  The number they give is the Windows Licence number, which is on all computers, worldwide, which run Windows!. They offer to"fix" these (nonexistent) faults if you give them remote access to your computer.  Like H*ll they will.  They will simply use the remote access to steal all the personal information you have on your computer.

Yep we too got a call. But we dont even run Windows! Of course they didnt know that, so it really doesnt seem legit.

Get a call every week or ten days for a month now early morning from 512-481-7946 in Austin Texas saying my Microsoft windows computer is sending signals to them who claim they are MS windows technical support.  Apparently "hackers" are connecting to my pc and they will "help" me prevent their stealing my info.  When I said I have antivirus they said this was an "infection" not virus!  I want to know how to stop them from calling me although I have told them I know this a scam and to stop calling me.

I received a call today from them, and like everyone else, they said that they were going to fix a bad file in my computer.  This is definitely a scam.  Be careful.

I just received a call from  512-481-7946  after a long conversation  I asked him if a can call him back he gave me his phone number  and his name is Adam Phillips  id # MS3039 and after i asked him when he used to work He told me  12 to 8
and I asked him What time is it where you are  he told me 7:05  central hour   THE big mistake from him   because it was 7:05 eastern  time !!!!   And it was not the first time that we received a call from them So don't give any information about your computer.  But I would like to know where they took our information Name and Address....

Got a call from them yesterday and today. Yesterday, I asked them if they spoke French since this is the language spoken in this part of the world... Well, that ended the conversation pretty abruptly. If you're trying to hack my computer, at least get someone who speaks the language of the place you are calling to!!! Jezzzz....
Anyway, they called again today and I asked them so many questions, they hung up on me. Hahahaha! But I hate that they have my phone number....

Same here. I asked them to speak french, said impossible!
They called twice, first, they hung up when I said I was running a Mac. Then called again, and they knew my name and address... Weird. gave me the same phone number as above when I said I would call back...

I had the same experience. However, we all know that anybody from over the world can get your address and phone number on Google. A matter of a few seconds. Good luck.

Not connected with Microsoft but hopefully will be connected with "jail"

They are persistent with 1 to 3 calls a week.  Flood then with questions and information (phony) and keep them busy.  They will hang up.  Tell them you run Linux or Apple only.  Ask them to produce the I.P. address of computer reporting infection?  Ask if it is the old computer you sold or if it is the one you bought 2 days ago?  Explain you are running on a home-based network with a server and firewall and NOTHING can be broadcast thru the network and server keeps records of ALL messages trying to be broadcast (and no trace of claims).  Do not try to explain but tell them that the equipment is maintained by an I.T. (information technology) team.

4 calls in last 3 days.  Got more control of them than they do em.

Got a call from 512-481-7946, supposedly from Microsoft Windows, indicating that someone is trying to hack my computer and they want to download a program to help protect it. They refer to Window ID number as " security check".
I was suspicious and based on the responses provided on this website, I understand this was a fraud.
