This person called me with a very thick accent.  Was a very poor connection, almost as if it was a call from overseas using a us phone number. Because of the echo I had a hard time trying to figure out what he was saying. He was looking for a woman with an Indian name, not me. Claimed he was trying to reach her regarding an affidavit being issued and her identity being used.  Would not tell me who he was. Hen I told him I was not that person he wanted to know my name. I would not give him my name and he then hung up, telling me he must have the wrong number.  Sounds like a scam

Called from 512-541-2184.  Identified himself as a police officer and trying to collect money for collection agency.  Obviously a scam!! Called the city police and when the police called, he hung up.  Has a thick East Asian accent.  Also has an answering machine message saying he is a police officer and he is currently away from his desk.  Beware of this person and the scam.  Call your police if you want to report.

We got a call from the same caller claiming that he was a police officer. When I asked him who he was, he just kept saying his name was Don Lawson and wanted to know what my name was. I told him that I was going to report him to FCC because he was a fraud. He than said to do "whatever you want, I'll have the police at your door soon." Beware of this guy. He has a very thick East Asian accent.

Threatening call about IRS and being sued if I did not settle immediately...Their names were Officer Don Lawson and also used Eric Hall.  This is a scam trying to get me to settle with payment when I have no issues with the actual IRS agent.  They are acting like they are with the IRS and they are not.  They are a bunch of dimwits acting like an IRS agent...

Same scam - thick accent which kept changing - claimed it was an IRS affidavit against my husband - supervisor had a changing accent too - initially British and when I challenged him - it turned into an Indian accent!!

This person called me today and left a message in my voice mail, I am saving it.
He said, his name is John William and there is case being filed from a Crime Unit Investigation against me to find out about my identity then he said, please call me as soon as possible, so I can stop the legal process against you.
I called him back but he didn't pick up the phone, he does have an accent.

Got the call from above number...saying there is federal invesigation under my name...call back as soon as possible.  

Left a message on my home phone saying that his name was Mike Johnson. Need to call him ASAP since a identity claim has been filed against me!

This guy also left same message on my phone and when i call back then got answering machine. Where I really file report for this call and trust me Houston police is useless as few years back I received call from people claiming as Al-Quida and want donation and Houston police in place of filing case told me to change the phone number or pay them

I call them back and finally they are demanding money for Al-Quida and Kashmir terrorist while posing as US Department of Immigration officer. Be sure not to give them any information or credit card record otherwise you will get stuck for helping enemies of US.

Got a similar phone call, from the above number claiming he is an immigration officer claims that he has affidavit for a kid and he needs to speak to me ASAP. He had a strong accent. Beware do not call/speak to this fraud.

I also received a call from same number and message is not fully clear but says he is officer lawson or johnson from CIS immigration services and he has an affidavit for ... Kid or my case and i need to call as soon as possible and he can not disclose details.

This person called me today with a thick accent wants to proceed with legal action. He is saying he is from USiGS.. Total fraud.

The message is from Danial brown which says calling from crime investigation deptt about an affidavit filed for a serious matter and left a message for a call back same thick husky voice surprising thing is the original call shows 800 number from USCIS atlanta and left a message from Austin Texas

I got a voice mail from somebody identifying himseelf as officer Mark Thomas calling from Client Investigation Dept on April 21, 2014 at 1:36 pm CST.  Reason behind call is that I have received a legal affidavit/ legal caase file in my name.  He left a ph #: 512 541 2184 and asked me to to call him asap to discuss the matter in detail.

The accent sounded Indian (somebody who is from India).

The ph# on my caller ID was 800 829 1040 and name was US Internal Rev.

My brother got a message and panicked a bit.  The guy was pretending to be calling from IRS (they manipulate the caller ID to show 800 829 1040, which is a correct IRS number - don't be fooled by this).

The guy was pretending that my brother owed back taxes and asked him to be pay by Walgreens Debit card - total fraud.  I wish we can actually screw with this guy a bit.

I suggest you call him back and waste his time a bit.  It is a complete scam.

This guy called us couple of hours ago and wanted to speak with my dad. He first greeted me by saying he is a police officer and that he needed to speak with my dad ASAP with a very thick accent. Then I asked what is the reason for this call and he replied by saying he can't speak with me and that he needs to speak with my dad and if my dad does not call him back he could get arrested. At that moment I was like " is this some kind of sick joke saying my dad could arrested for crime that he never committed" right when I said that, he got defensive. So I told him my dad will call him back in short while. When my dad called him he told him the FBI has contacted the IRS and have found some kind of fraud with the taxes and stuff. And that he has to pay large amount of money or get arrested. But at the end this whole [***] is a SCAM and if this number calls you 512-541-2184 dont pick it up and if you do pick it up start yelling at them and make that [***] regret ever calling you.

I got a message saying he has an affidavit case filed against my name. Very thick East Indian accent. Left a message saying he cannot leave a detailed message but to call him back at number 512-541-2184 ASAP
Obviously scam. Beware of this guy and number!
