My nephew received a call from this number asking if I had skipped the country. In response, he contacted me and I called the number back. The guy verified my information and stated I would have a summons out for my arrest by the end of the day unless I make good on a bad check from 2009 to a Pay Day loan place.

First, the check would have been from a company that went under in 2008 - if it was from a bad check, the date would have been 2008 which falls beyond the 7 year limit. Second, the pay day loan company was said to be associated with a "Federal Reserve" bank... the bank in question is just a bank, nothing more and has no association with a pay day loan company. Third, we talked to the local DA and Sheriff's office - if there was a request to issue a warrant for my arrest, there is due process which a certified letter would be mailed to me to allow me time to work things out rather than a deputy showing up at my doorstep this evening or my place of work tomorrow... Fortunately I know the law and was able to see through the BS this guy was trying to push.

I even asked for the firm he represented, but since I mentioned I would be getting my family attorney involved, he said that I would have to take it up with the police department that it was now out of his hands... what a scam!

Today I received a phone call from thus number. He then in turn called my son phone telling him this was a legal investigation and I needed to contact him. The investigation is in texas which I have never been in. He actually cursed on the phone and everything. Giving me social security number and everything. This man james baker that is calling is threatening people. Is full of alot of bs..

A james baker called me threatning to have me arrested for a pay day loan over the internet. For one Ive received an online loan for 1500 but he said it was for 450. Ive never received a pay day loan period online. When i told him that he goes on about how we couldve settled out of court now i have to be picked up tonight. Complete scam. All lies. He was already telling me about sending him money to settle this issue. Scam. Dont fall for it

Received call to threaten me, it is a scam, do not fall for it. He is nothing but a loser preying on innocent people that will take his bait. I know the law n by him leaving messages n not knowing if  that is persons voicemail, study the debt collector law, before pursuing to collect. Get a real job, idiot.
