Two calls with no message left in the past week. First on Saturday at 1:15p. Another today at 8:56p.

they call all hrs several times a week. i work nights and am either sleeping or at work

Yeah me too. They call but leave no message.

I talked to the guy and he was doing a travel survey for the City of Calgary.  Needed to know if I was going to participate in a survey about how much driving I do, take public transit etc.  I said I was going to do the on-line version.  I should have asked him where he was calling from, he had a southern American accent.  He was okay and even thanked me for the time the call took (about 45 seconds)

Says they are from Cal Trans doing a study re: people's travel miles, *(local & "long distance" or over 50 miles). Gave web site of http://catravelsurvey.com/welcome.aspx
yet when called back, after they were supposed to send out a package to document travel, both local & long distance, when they called to gather the info, they didn't give the required pin #, they didn't give me one, said they'd just get the info from me via phone, they only wanted the travel date for a single date for any travel, then wanted >50 mile travel, yet none of the local travel info.

Seems to be a poorly done "study", as they have no local data, wanted long distance travel & what the trip purpose was. I don't know what exactly they hoped to get from this type of travel data, yet seemed pretty worthless from a research standpoint, as they never asked for the local travel that was stated to be "very important" to keep track of, including use of mass transit, or other forms of travel.

Not very useful since those working the call center seemed to want to cut corners on the data, and the caller was not interested in the data for local trips, or other information that in a previous call was said to be "very important" for their research, then data was never taken.

Whoever's "research" this is (said it was CalTrans"), is going to have incomplete & inaccurate information, as their callers aren't interested in what the traffic loads really are, assuming it was really desiring any type of accurate information.

Seemed to be a waste of time & resources.IF this is really info for CalTrans & why wasn't this done in-state if it was really info for CalTrans? Seems to be mixed messages as to what information was important.
