- TabbieI've got this number on my phone I've missed the call several times and Tried calling it back and it just says this number is disconnected and is nolonger is service can the phone comanies charge you if you get this number contiously and or call it? can I just put a block on this number????? 512-961-1667
- DI just got a call from the same number, but I didn't pick it up. I find the timing ironic b/c just two days ago I had to cancell my credit card due to a fraudulent purchase of $940 to Euro EA Airlines (or some company name close to this). Please be very aware of this. I'm not sure if the two are mere coincidences but I highly doubt it. I wonder what is the common thread between us all.
- Caller: ?
- austinI have received several calls from this number, its getting very anoying
- ai've received the call 4 times today and its so freaking irritating/scary
I'm wondering whats common amongst all of us. Can't we live in a peaceful
society??? Some a*hole is trying to not even speak! damnit.- Caller: god knows!
- Austinite| 2 repliesI posted on another simular site. Thought I would add my findings here as well.
I believe this number to be a phone transfer service for people calling from forieng countries.
I do not feel this is a scam whatsoever. If you know someone living outside of the USA chances are it could be them trying to use a cheap number (sort of what we have/had in usa with the 1010###)
Hope this helps.
https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-512-961-1667#pRNl-CYFFgQCkNwjKXl3zmA - love Austin!I received a call from this #512-961-1667, guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from the federal govt IRS stating that he had a $2500 refund check to deposit into my bank account. Just send the check by mail, I say. Oh no it is much safer to direct deposit....and so on . Total scam. When I asked for a # where I could call back to verify info, he gave me an IRS California #, not knowing that I had caller id and could see where they were calling from. How can we get these guys investigated on?!?!? They called again today but no one was home and they left no message. I also get a disconnected recording if I try to call the #. No offense but I tink Austinite's above response could might as well be part of the scam....B-E-W-A-R-E!
- T| 2 repliesThis number, (512) 961-1227 is a Scam. Basically a Nigerian type scam. Guy posted an expensive sportbike on Cycletrader.com claiming to be giving the bike away. No price in the ad, no contact info at all. No number in the ad and no email, making you hit 'Contact seller' button as the only means of getting a hold of the seller. Its just a way of masking the identity since you have to wait for a reply as Cycletrader forwards it to the ad holder. The the scammer used the name Frank Metally and told me to call the number reported here, supposedly a shipper from Texas demanding payment for shipping fees because they plan on "sending you the bike" after payment. Email from this shipper has no company name, Money order only.
First this Frank says (through email, despite me asking him what his phone number is, and asking him several times what the price was) the bike is free, its from the death of a family member and they want it gone. The bike is first in N. California. When when I said I'd just pick it up, he refers me to the shipper who says the bike is in Texas.
Totally transparent scam. Was easy to spot. Similar ads on Cycletrader where expensive bikes are posted with Fax numbers for contact, non existent sellers, and stuff like this. Giving away a $7,000 used sportbike for free because it's "painful" to have it around.

- J replies to T100% TRUE!!! total scam, he claimed to be james paine in my situation..... Same scenario however with the free bike becase of the death of a family member. Dont believe what they say!! He will do and say anything to get money out of you!
- wtxguyI think Austinite is right, I received a call from this number and they left a voicemail, it was from a car company I had called and perfectly legit. Probably just being routed through a phone company, not part of the scam, the company gave me a seperate 800 number to contact back. There probably are people using the service to scam so be careful, but obviously not all of the calls are automatic scam.
- Call type: Event reminder
- Ann replies to AustiniteYeah Right
