I received a call from someone claiming to be a police officer from this number

I got a call this morning--didn't answer because I was teaching class--no message--but this was my CELL phone!!

I received a call from this number this morning on my cell, I was unable to answer because I was working. No voicemail left.

They keep calling my cell every 5 mins or so, and if I answer I just hear a series of beeps.  So annoying

My home was recently burglarized and a detective called me from this number. APD.

I received a call from this number this afternoon. He claimed to be a police officer, but asked for some person I never heard of.

I received this phone call today. When I answered, "hello?" a woman responded, "I'm sorry, I've dialed the wrong number..."  She then hung up.  She never asked my name...

It's the city of Austin people. A simple google of the number will tell you that.

its the austin police department. thats the number that always came up when the detective was calling me to discuss my burglary incident

This # keeps calling without leaving a message. When I've answered, I hear clicks and it disconnects. I live in Houston, so I can't imagine this is APD calling.

I got a call from this number today also.

(512)974-000 - When I answered with my standard "hello", the response was "Yes, who's this?"
Me: "Excuse me? You're calling me so, how about you tell me who YOU ARE?"
Dork: "This Detective Wiggins"
Me: "Detective Wiggins? Really?"
Dork: "You keep calling us, so who is this"
Me: "I keep calling YOU?"
Dork: "Yes"
Me: "Yeah, you want to double check the number, you got the wrong number"
[Disconnect]

IF this was indeed an APD based called, the caller had the phone protocol of a head concussion victim; I'm tempted to call back but given that it's obviously a PBX, and it's a gov't  outfit, I won't get anywhere.

I got a call from 974-0000.Our property was burglarized and is under investigation so I'm pretty sure the caller was the detective.

I received a call from a guy named Javier, when  I went to call the number back, I found out it was Austin 311!

Someone from this number calls claiming to be from irs and says to buy green dot cards and give them the number or else you will be arrested

Scam, they say it's Austin Energy but when you call the number back it goes to 311 or they hang up
