PICKUP SERVICE MY ASS!!!!!!!!!

Calls come from a call center "representing" various charities. They say that they are "vietnam veterans", "lupus society" and a variety of other charities. The trick however, is that the charity being "represented" are not actually doing the collecting nor do they get the full benefit of what is being donated. These organizations get a pre-determined fee for every agreed to pick-up (say $1 per stop) and the items being collected are then sold in bulk to FOR PROFIT thrift type second hand stores with the entire amount going to the operator of the call center. So, you can donate a semi-load of goods yet the organization (charity) receives the same amount of money as they would from a person donating a single pair of shoes. If you have items that might be of value for resale then donate to a local non-profit (Goodwill, Salvation Army, local church or other organization) and steer clear of these callers.
