Received a call from this number.  When I answered it, there was a recorded message, "Hello, we have an important call for you but all our representatives are currently busy.  Please stay on the line and someone will be right with you."

Yeah right...like I'm actually going to wait!  :-)

Same thing, tho I got a "Our offices are now closed" mssg even tho I called at 10a.m. on a tuesday.  [***]!

I came home to part of the automated message about waiting for someone to pick up... and someone picked up, but they were talking to my answering machine when they said, "Hello?  Helloooo?".  The machine hung up on them.

It's Macy's telling you need to make a payment. It's a scam. They're trying to get your card number. Don't bother answering.

Is there a way to get them to stop calling?  They keep calling my number.....

I got a call and it was a hang up. My mom got the same # a few weeks back
and they said they were macy's and wanted a payment over the phone. Mom said NO, there was a store down the street. And the guy on the other end started to argue with her that she could do it right now and quickly, she hung up.

I received this number calling me twice so far and I have not picked up. and I won't after reading the other comments.

Why is it that a lot of people whom have a Macys account get this type of call? I have a Macys account and was late in making my payment on time. However, I did pay it well before 30 days. How would these people know I have a Macys account?

Also received a call from this number, but was told the office is currently closed and listed the hours.  Must be an east coast company?  Don't know, but don't want them calling me!

I get a call from this number 7 days a week. This has been going on for about 6 weeks.  Does it ever end?

Just received a call from this number on my home phone. I assumed it was a collection call so I answered to inform whoever it was that I "no longer lived here". When I answered, a message came on saying that they were calling regarding an important matter and to hold in order to speak to a representative. A young woman answered and asked for me. I said, "She no longer lives here. What is this regarding?" It sounded like she got a little nervous because she quickly said, "An important business matter. Thank you." and hung up.

I checked with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) but found no listing, so I Google'd it and found sites such as this one with tons of similar stories. I do have a Macy*s account, but my payment isn't due until later this month. After reading numerous experiences, I'm pretty sure this is a scam.

Same thing happened to me. This BS- I cant wait for these idiots to call me back. What a joke. They are going to wish they never called me. MF

Received two calls so far.  One on Sunday, no message left.  Again today with a computer like voice message asking me to please contact Mr. Thomas regarding important business matter but they did not say what company they were from.  
I do have a macy's account and did just receive a new card in the mail (maybe making sure I got it or I need to register it?) but I'd think they'd at least say they were from Macys.  Very odd.  After all the message, I'm just going to continue to ignore the call.  If it sounds suspicious, it must be.

I have got a call SEVERAL times a day from this number steady Mon-Fri every day for the past 2 weeks. It's really annoying. I did answer once and I got the whole story saying they had a very important business matter they needed to talk to me about, but would not say who they were. I do have a Macy's account but I just got a statement a few days ago and there was NOTHING overdue or wrong with it, so the fact they started calling last week makes it look VERY suspicious. Definitely a scam.

They have hung up, had a machine call, and no one answered,it is a personal business matter, and they have also said they are Macy's calling and want a payment.  Be careful!

Voice messages left on cell phone 5 consecutive days by 3 different voices asking for a Melinda or Donald E. (they don't know how to pronouce last name. Asking to call 1-800-545-1256 about and important business matter. I am not the person they are looking for and have no important business matter to discuss with strangers using my cell minutes! I keep having to delete messages and reset voice message notices just for these idiots! My carrier will not block the incoming phone number!!!

It's Macy's calling on late payments -- some times 2 times a day -- and even though you may only be $5 behind on your payments...

Little do they know that Circuit City used this tactic for several years...before they began going out of business.

Is Macy's that desperate?
