- John| 1 replyThis is Macy's collection agency. They mis-applied a payment that was supposed to be on the Macy's Visa. They mistakenly applied this to my Macy's store revolving account. Paid directly at the store and they had the payment stub. They gave me the check back to me, and this was the first time they have ever done this.
This better not affect my credit report!!- Caller: Macy's

- MB| 1 replyI had this phone number call me several times in the past also. However when I did finally call the phone number back one day and spoke with the agent she explained to me that she works with both Macy's & Bloomingdale's past due or collection dept accts. I found out that I had a past due payment on my Bloomingdale's acct. instead of my macy's acct that I overlooked paying. The agent I spoken with was very nice & she told me that I needed to make the pymt to this Bloomingdale acct & that she could even take the pymt by phone if I wish to & she said after I make the pymt she can check my acct to see if the Late pymt fee could be removed for me. I however went to the store to make the pymt and called back the phone number on my bloomingdales bill and asked them to see if the late pymt fee could be removed & the cust service agent did remove it for me. I have in past experience also had made in store pymt to my macy's acct and later found out by mistake that the store assoc. misapplied the pymt that should had gone to my macys visa acct instead went to my store acct. I called the phone number on my macy's bill that time & spoke with the cust. service person who explain to me what happened and took care of the misapplied payment right away for me and even removed the fees for me. I have nearly always had found the people I had spoken with at Macy's or Bloomingdale's to be very helpfull and nice towards me even when I call their cust service dept .

- CliffThis number shows up on our caller id and when answered there is never a reply. I called this number directly and and actually talked to a "customer rep" from the credit department of Macys and Bloomingdales or so he said in broken english. When asked for the card number I declined to give it to him because I didn't trust the number. Nor do I think Macy's and Bloomingdales share the same credit dept. I told him I would call the company directly. Surprise! There is credibility to the number; they did try to call and have no explanation as to why nobody would answer. Should anybody have a similar experience I would recommend calling the number on the back of the card.
- SherryI am getting calls from 5137549841 at all hours of the day and night. When I answer, there is no one there and the call just disappears.
- Ki have had the same experience, calling at 4am!!!. i spoke to macy's about my account after reading this thread and before i called the number back - they do not have a credit service linked to that number, nor is my account in any collection period. i called the number back and demanded to be removed from the list.....we'll see how that goes! I would never give them ANY information over the phone, not even my name. i would just demand to remove the phone number.

- Call type: Debt collector
- Nicole J.I am only 10 days late on a $15 payment to Macy's. I've never been late with their payments before, and I have excellent credit and never gone to collections for anything. In the past 6 days, this number has called me 40 times and counting. They leave no voicemails, and they call at all times of the day and night and on weekends. This is harassment.

- BG replies to MBThis post is from an employee of the company - no one in their right mind would spend so much time explaining this and tossing this kind of [***] around.

- MichelleI got several calls from this number every day over the course of three days when I was never available to take the call. No voicemail was ever left, but I was able to answer today. The woman on the line didn't specify who she was, nor did I ask, but she asked to speak with a woman...Jackie something. I informed her that she had the wrong number, and that was that. No more calls from them so far.
- geecalling me at work all the time but doesn't leave a message.
- Sydney| 1 replyAfter almost a month of harrasing phone calls at all hours of the day, everyday, including weekends, from the same phone # 513-754-9841, my wife finally "caught" a live person to speak with. He mentioned we owe money on a Macy's credit account. WOW...was that a surprise! We always pay on time and a simple voice message or letter from Macy's would have suffice to ensure them getting them money. Two days after we found out we owed, we paid off our entire balance and proceeded to close our accounts. No one at the store could help us with closing our accounts. We had to call the 1-866-282-8697, and after a few minutes of automated responses, no one was able to help us, we couldn't even leave a message. We have to call back tomorrow to close our accounts. I am currently writing a letter to our State Attorney General Washington, CEO of Macy's and the 3 credit bureaus to make sure this matter is being addressed so no one else gets these harrassing phone calls for "not knowing" they have an outstanding payment to Macy's AND potentially have their credit score negatively impacted.
