Signed up with Cavalier Telephone, got a number I've never had before and had therefore disclosed to no one -- and within 48 hours this number was calling me. Hmm. Wonder if Cavalier sold it to them...

I just switched from VOIP to Insight Cable for my landline and got a new number. A few days later and I got a call from this number, Viking Magazine. Called back and when I asked to be removed, the guy laughed at me. I said "Why do you find that funny?" and he then said he would remove me from their list. I also went online today to register my new number with the national 'do not call' registry. It seems like a lot of folks here are getting called after getting new numbers... makes me think our numbers are being sold.

For those folks who have been on the registry for more than 31 days, I would suggest filing a complaint https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

Have been receiving calls from this number for about 3 days now. The caller lets the phone ring (my cell phone) 3 times hangs up then calls right back and does this for about an hour.

This number has become something of a burden they call but when I answer they hang up which disturbs me alot

Call came on my cell phone...don't know who it is...when they called back..I took a loud sports whistle and I'm sure hurt their ears...if they call back again, I'm going to sue for harrassment and cause them some financial distress.

Got a call from that number also yesterday.

Viking Magazine keeps calling my cell phone several times a day. I answer they don't say a word. I called back and was put on hold. I waited 10 mins and got a Rep. I politely told them that if they have the nerve to call me back again and not remove my number as requested and which they must do legally I would have a surprise for them. The idiots called back I waited a minute to make sure that someone was there. They started talking and I blew an Airhorn into their ears! If they call again, they will get it again. I am on the DNC and reported them as well. I know they have a job to do but lets face it, its an auto dialer that dials the numbers. Until you are physically removed from their computer you will still get called. Make sure you register with the DNC at http://www.dnc.gov and after 31 days if they are still calling or any other unwanted telemarketer then report them. Thanks and have a great day.

These phone calls started for me when I forgot the principal axiom of economics: "There is no such thing as a free lunch."
The reason most all of us have gotten the phonecalls from this number and others is because of the websites like freelaptopnation.com
I say we fight back and use a website like mapoftheinternet.com, look up the websites that require sign up for info and give their phone number to themselves to call all day.

to use the mapoftheinternet service type the name of the site in the domain spot and then click on who is to get registrant info. sometimes this is blocked so try google too.

I need to know who this is

Well i  just recently recieved a phone call from this number. They called twice, when I picked up the second time, he called me by my first name and told me his name was mark and he was calling from a magazine serivce. Then he hung up.....I hope he dosen;t call again...

Other things that you can also do are put your phone number on the national do not call registery and the companies do not call list and if you do call a telemarketer back to have your number put on their do not call list be polite you get better results then yelling and hanging up on them cause they will just keep calling if you don't.   There is my advice take it or leave it.

Viking Magazines calls at least once a day. I just got a new number. I will be taking appropriate action against this jerks. Hope they are reading. Their days are numbered. They screwed with the wrong lawyer.

They call me at least 3 times a day. I never answer but I am getting very frustrated, they first call from the 515 number, but then they block it and call again! I just got a new refurbished phone from Cingular and thats when I began receiving the calls.. I think someone cingular gave out my number or something. I tried calling cingular to see if they can block them and they said it wasn't possible, I don't know how to make them stop!

We just got a new number with Armstrong who professes not to sell phone numbers. I have been inundated in the last two days with telemarketing calls. It started with multiple calls from 1-800-830-9718. When I requested to be put on the "do not call" list, "Emily" told me that she had to make a living and would not take us off! This number tracks on the message boards to both Viking Magazines and IR Sweepstatkes. I hypothesize that they are also affiliated with "Family Reader" as both Viking and Family Reader have called me within the hour.

They called and left message with my daughter saying that my husband or myself should give them a call back, it was very important. I called back and just got a busy signal all day long. Then, when i finally reached someone, I asked them how they obtained my phone number since i am on the national do not call list...the line went dead. lol. I never ordered anything from them...nor did I ever even hear of them until they called me. Haven't heard from them since.

When I answered the phone, all I heard was someone breathing on the other end.  So I hung up.
