Called my home this morning although we are on national do-not-call list. I could not answer in time and they did not leave a message. Called ID described it as call from "debt relief" -- well, we have no debt (no unpaid bills, no credit-card balance, no car payments, nothing but a mortgage that we make timely payments on). I called back from another number, with my ID blocked, and got a recording that said "press 1 to be put on our do-not-call list." I did not press anything and after a few second the call disconnected.

This is a pond-scum outfit with an automatic dialler located in Cold Spring harbor, Suffolk County, NY. They are classic pests.

Call 877-***-**** [spam number removed], they will stop the phone calls.

I got a call too with no message.

Tried this phone number and just received a voice message system.   I am on the national do not call list and have pressed 1 on their calls in the past and continue to receive calls from them.  

I thought automated outbound dialers were illegal?  Is there some agency to enforce fining this company for breaking the law?

Received call regarding reducing credit card debt at 11:28 AM 4/15/2010 at my work number in Los Angeles (213 area code).

"Jane" why don't you explain yourself? You work for the organization in question, right?

After a brief conversation she stated that she simply 're-sells' the phone numbers they receive from the phone company and she has no way to control over what happens with that number once they sell it. I persisted and she said that she could email her boss about my complaint, when I asked to speak to her boss directly, she declined. She kept asking for my number, which I refused to give her"

Called my prepaid cell (on the do not call list) 2010-APR-20 around 10 AM. No message. No other information.

No name showed on the ID field, and they left no message. I'm not going to pay to call them back.

Automatic dialers are not illegal, just unethical and annoying. If you ask them not to call, and they do call you back, that is illegal. I work in the industry, but for a much more legitimate company that follows the law.  I suggest you keep track of the numbers that call and date & time. If you've already requested to be removed from the list, you can file a complaint with the FCC here: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm.  Complain every time they call because the squeaky wheel will get the grease.

Also, DNC laws do not apply to business phones, so if your personal phone is listed as a business number, make sure you let the offending company know it's a personal line.  You must also say the words "Place me on your do not call list" if you speak with someone. Simply saying "I'm not interested" or "I don't want to talk to you" will not get you removed.

Automated call to my cell phone offering debt relief. I followed the voice prompt by pressing 9 to speak to a representative so I could find out the company name (and hopefully waste some of their time). When I did that the call disconnected. Pond scum indeed!

I have been receiving calls from this debt relief 516.. telephone number.... early in the morning, late at night, and several withing 5 minutes of each other.  I am sick and tired of "pressing 1 to be removed" only to get more calls.  This is going on too long.

I got a voice message playback from Debbie... from the 877 number.  I left some "expletives".  Unfortunately, I am still receiving these calls.

And yes I am on the Do Not Call Registry!

I am very sick and they keep calling and disturbing me from my sleep.  PLEASE "STOP" CALLING... I AM NOT INTERESTED.  Put it writing, that way I can read and toss on my own 'WAKING" time!  Damn!!!

You can SUE to collect CASH DAMAGES of up to $1500 or more per call from these people if they used a prerecorded message.   Calls using a prerecorded message are illegal under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991.   You need to be able to prove your case and in some cases you can get attorney's fees (certain states).

I keep getting phone calls from these jerks also. I DID NOT enroll in the debt relief program and I have tried to get on their DO NOT CALL LIST but they still continue to call me.  I'm disabeled and when I have to get up to answer the phone it is very painful.. I WANT THESE CALLS TO STOP!!!

My caller ID shows this number has called 5 times within the last two days. When I elected to talk to someone to removr my number from their call log they hung up the phone before I could finish the statenebt,

Debt relief recording.  I waited for person to get on their do not call list.  I asked for their address and they hung up.  After that they called over and over with insults.

They call from different numbers all the time, another one is 339-502-6693.  I file a complaint on www.donotcall.gov every time and request to be placed on their do not call list every time but the calls wont stop and the agents hang up on you.  What is the name of the company?  I don't think its actually "Debt Relief".  I need the name and address to file a Better Business Bureau complaint.
