These people have apparently gotten a new phone number. They called me from 516-858-7178.

They called and asked which car they were calling about (we have 3). They said that "my name" (i had not given them my name) was not on either of the cars they had. I then asked them what name was on the car where the warranty was expiring, they told me that by the way i was talking i obviously had no idea what i was talking about and that to tell my parents when they got home that their warranty was expiring and promptly hung up on me. (I'm an adult and own my own car??)

These people called at 6:30p said nothing when I said hello and coughed or laughed after a couple of seconds, then hung up.

They've been trying but I know who they are.
Just ignore 'em.

Call them and file a complaint.   Also complain to the FTC at http://donotcall.gov.

Called last nite @ 8:10pm (which in my opinion is too late). I didn't answer & they left no message.  Caller ID says "Auto Warranty."

I received a call from (516) 858-7178 this morning. They said nothing. I re dialed only to get a recording. Part of the recording states at #2 name would be put on the "do not call" list. We'll see.

Called at 9:48 this AM and Woke me as I am home recovering from major MAJOR surgery.  Picked the phone up and slammed it down to stop the ringing.

GOOD NEWS: The Crap is about the Hit the Fan for these SCUMBALLS (which by the way are mostly ILLEGAL ALIENS working in these Call Centers.)  They called and interrupted U.S. Senator CHUCK SCHUMER on his PRIVATE cell the other day during a SENATE HEARING that HE was CHAIRING!  So now he's GOING AFTER THEM!!!!  He was told that LAW ENFORCEMENT is about to go after these [***]!

SO---Keep Calling and Writing the FTC AND your Representatives about ALL these numbers and calls.  Hopefully, if they FINE these SOB's high and hard enough, that will help take care of the Budget Deficit!!!!!

Very interesting thought on this phone number! I just called a friend in the 516 area code last night and now this morning I got my first scam phone call!?!?!? I wonder if they are somehow collecting phone numbers of people calling into that area code and then using the phone number called from??? I wonder if there is a connection somehow???

I just don't answer the calls and hope they stop. One company kept calling 3 to 5 times a day and I finally stopped it by screaming at the top of my lungs into the phone each time they called. Haven't had a call in a while from them, thank God!

they called from 516-858-7178 i answered and asked for management, the Caller Identified himself as Dan Rather and said that management was at a meeting. Then the grimey [***] hung up.

Unscrupulous, dishonest scammers.  Keep reporting them, not that the government bothers to do much about this sort of company.

2nd time today, they woke me up, just called again, call all of the time, easy to say IGNORE, my numbers are unpublished and I am terminally ill I have to have a phone with me and they are UPSETTING me and making me sicker with NO SLEEP

They call all of the time on my other line and cell phone too, why doesn't the governmnent DO SOMETHING

What these callers are doing is Illegal. The ROBO caller directs you to an “out of country” call center and the us government can’t do anything about it. Then they transfer you to a 3'rd party sales person (LOCATION UNKNOWN) that has anonymity from you because he was transferred and no caller ID will show for them... the 3rd party can also claim that since the call was transferred to them they are not responsible for the harassment of the people called and complaining....this company has taken millions from the people of the U.S. and delivered NOTHING!!

My suggestion to you is to play along with them as far as you can and see if you can find out a mailing address for the money they want you to send or a location for them Like a city… (DONT GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFO!!!) But play along enough to get something “we” can use then post the info on all the sites like this you can find. This will assist others in compiling info to use against them and assist LAW INFORCMENT in this matter also. This will also frustrate these callers. So string them out as far as you can, get any info you can, report it, and don’t give them anything, WASTE as much of their time as you can every time they call (if you have the time to mess with them)  Keep them on the phone as long as you can for no reason…if every body did this they would have to find another scam to pull.
Just hanging up or telling them you are on the “do not call list” or telling them to stop calling and / or not even picking up the phone will not stop this problem they will just keep calling they are don’t abide by the Law but they do need to make money….so waste there time….have some fun with them and maybe these freeks will slip and we can find them. They NEED to be in jail!

I have now been hung up on twice by them.  I just want a phone number to them so that I can call and harass them.  Can anyone help me?

Got one of the auto warranty calls a few minutes ago.  I guess if I can get them to talk, I will just put phone down and walk away until THEY hang up.
I too have notified the National Do Not call list, but I am now getting these calls every day and they are annoying.  The number here is found in whitepages.com reverse lookup as being located in Nassau, NY.
