Called me on my cell today, but left no message

call my cell and when I answered, they hung up

Called and left no message on work phone  -  Michigan origin

This must be the day to push security systems. This was the second call today from the Michigan area. Both times it was "Lisa" but from two different numbers. Told her my security system was a Smith and Wesson Model 45.

I got a call from this number today

This scammer calls numbers on the national do not call registry in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. They further violate the TCPA by failing to have an operator on the line when the call is answered, and still further violate the TCPA by playing a recorded message without an operator to pause or stop the recording and answer questions. Once you get to an operator, they confirm that they are a scam attempting fraud or identity theft by hanging up when they are asked for a phone number or physical address, both of which they are required by the TCPA to provide (and both of which any legitimate company would gladly provide to anyone they wanted as a customer or client). Their recording is offering a guaranteed business loan with no interest, no fees, and no payback schedule. This is clearly a scam. Do not provide this scammer with any personal or financial information.

I appreciate your diatribe about the laws etc, but did it not occur to you that , maybe ,  these calls are being routed from abroad  and are not subject to the laws of the land and are virtually untouchable?.  Just a thought before your next rant. Do some research.

I appreciated your non-researched opinion on the non-researched opinion based rant.  Unless you of course are the overseas perpetrator of these "untouchable" routed calls and know something weif doesn't... I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night so I must be rightest.

If she works harder she may get promoted to a street corner lady of the night and that's a big promotion. At least she will know what she is selling.      See moderator, it didn't need to be cut.

Small business loan. No collateral!

This is a USA boiler room that runs many scams simultaneously, and they ignore the DNC list.  The latest is a bogus offer of business loans.  They refuse to provide an address or a company name, a sure sign of crooks.  Putting them on your blocked list may not do much good, as they have dozens of numbers in their call/spoof list and rarely use the same one twice.

517-348-0174, called and left no message.  I appreciate all comments (even rants) because my life and experiences do not involve all that is talked about.  I just NEVER answer my landline phone and do not answer UNKNOWN #'S on my cell.  Scammers have my house phone captive.  How sad.
