I received a call from this number 30 minutes ago, with the caller identifying himself as a representative from MEDICARE, offering a free blood glucose meter and test strips to diabetics. He went on to ask to ask the usual questions - are you a diabetic, do you take pills or insulin, how many times a day, etc. - and also asked for the name and phone number of my diabetic specialist.  I didn't object, but questioned him why he didn't have this information if, in fact, he was working with MEDICARE, since all this information is on file. Then there were a few more rather meaningless questions, and the the final one - "What is your Medicare number? "  I advised him that he should have that information from MEDICARE, and could confirm it with my doctor. I told him of the dangers in giving personal information to strangers on the phone and refused to give it.   He said he must withdraw the offer if I didn't give him my number, and we ended our conversation.  Just to satisfy my feelings of mistrust, I checked my phone caller id , recalled the number and received a voice message that the number I dialed was disconnected or no longer in service. Interesting. considering that I had received not ONE, but TWO calls in the previous hour.  ( I didn't answer the first call but it is registered on my caller id).   This is a serious scam.  The state registered for this number is Michigan.  As a concerned consumer, I am looking for advice on reporting this  incident to the correct authority.

This happened to me also, same number, it is Medicare scam and the  Consumer Protection Bureau told me to report it to the Fed. Trade Commission at1-877-438-4338.

I recieved several calls from this number. The phone number belongs to a phone company in Michigan.

Received calls from this number several times. The phone number belongs to Michican Bell Tel. Co. The man's name was Philip. He said he was from  medicare.He wanted personal information. He just called me again at 9:57 am my time.

I got a call this morning from this guy that says he is working threw medicare,and wanted to varify some information,he had all my numbers medicare number,address,phone number,drs. name the works.they was going to upgrade my testing meter,so i said ok.come to find out its a big farse.so i would like to ask what do i do now. i thought somthing was funny about this because of the accents he had i had a hard time understanding him.

I got a call today from this number and the guy said his name was Clyde Walker and he had a heavy accent. He said he was from medicare and asked for me by name and wanted to know if I had diabetes.  I said no and he hung up and when I tried to call the number it said it had been disconnected.

Actually what this guy does is track down people who have fallen off the grid. Maybe they defaulted on a loan or court papers need to be served or whatever and they can't be found. This guy gets a good commission for finding you so maybe your wages can be garnished, attach your house or whatever. Simply by answering, they can lock your location and hopefully youre in one of two places- home or work! Don't answer, get the number blocked.

I just within the last five minutes received a phone call from this number.  The caller was a male with a very heavy accent (difficult to understand) who indicated he was with Medicare and wanted to send me some "free" medical supplies because I have diabetes and on medicare.  I have received several calls identical to this.  On one occasion I answered his questions until he got to asking me for my medicare number.  At that point I had become very suspicious that he really was with medicare and I refused to give him my medicare number as it is also my social security number.  If he was actually calling from medicare he would have this information without asking.  This last call I told him I wasn't interested and hung up.

I have received several phone calls from this number they keep calling. Trying to sell me diabetic supplies where do they get my information from, how do they know I'm diabetic, I tried to call the number to please ask them to stop calling and they say the number is disconnected.

Family members gettign repeated calls on information on healthcare meters.

We have declined but they contineu to call.  Sounds like harassment.
