It's from Portfolio Recovery Associates...a collection agency who would call but never leave a message

This number keeps calling my cell phone at all hours of the day.  Never leaves a message though.  It is so annoying since I have an elderly mom and three adult children, when I receive a call on my cell at late hours I automatically think it has something to do with a family member.  Only to see this 518 number appear on my caller ID.  How do I get them to stop calling me?

If you have an Android phone, get GBlocker - it can pick-up-hang-up black-listed numbers, and they will listen to an operator, thinking it's you picking up, because they never heard anything from your end of the ignored call.

or you can record 5-seconds of your thumb covering the mic, and assign it as a ringtone for anonymous numbers. most phones let you do that, even with mp3 files.

One more new number from Portfolio Recovery Assoc. These people want to get your personal information over the phone to scam you. Do not answer the call. They will rip you off. Do not trust them.

If they call you you can say what you wish. I asked what are you wearing honey. what are your pantie colors. She got mad and said someone else can call you about your debt and hung up. I have not had a debt for well over 7 years so it has to be very old,

No answer. no message call from Albany N.Y.

Go to www.phonetray.com and get the free software to block phone calls including 800 numbers. Simply connect a RJ-11 cord from your telephone to the modem port on your computer. You can put in all of PR's numbers and block 800 calls. It works great. This will drive PR crazy and maybe they will go bankrupt if everyone blocks them. Pass this on to others.

I keep getting calls from several diferent phone #'s that are trying to collect on an account I had 22 years ago but has been paid???

Apparently its a debt collector. The only advice I can give you is to use an Android based smart phone so you can easily block the calls and send them directly to voicemail, and use Google Voice for your voicemail service - blocking the caller there which will make it seem as if your number has been disconnected. These people are rude and do not obey the laws. Record the calls and find a lawyer...

These people called my mom whilst she was playing the Xbox Kinect. I was very bored so I picked up and said "Hello?" very annoyingly, they said hello back and I screamed, "GOLDFISH!" and I hung up. If these people call me, expect a very annoying pre-teen or teen depending on how old I am when they call. :3 I don't know who they are but I wanted to give you a tip, annoy the living crap out of them.

These geeks continue to call, but leave no message..have them on the delete list on my cell phone. I will not accept calls from these beaten down people.

Just got a call from this number. I screamed in the phone, because they wouldn't tell me what company they are calling from. Guess I'm childish.

they call me all the time from various phone numbers on a debt from over 15 years ago which was for an electric bill in a house I didn't even live in.
