- Paula M| 1 replyCalled with an automated message. "To lower my interest rates press 1". I pressed 1 and they couldn't tell me which cards I had, my balances, or my interest rates. When I demanded that he tell me which cards I had he rattled off MBNA, Citi Financial, and HSBC. None of which I have. He said that he has not asked me for any personal info so this is not a scam. They are going to give me a PIN number to access a website to lower my rates. I said I have no balances owing so there is no need to lower my rate he told me to f**k off and hung up.
- CYuCall came in a few minutes ago. I said hello and the line went dead. Typical scammers/telemarketers.
- ns| 2 repliesAnswered call, option 2 was give to opt out of future calls. Automated system said I pressed an invalid number and connected me to an agent. Told agent opt out doesn't work. He started singing in a foreign language. Asked to have my number removed and I was disconnected. Have submitted complaint to CRTC as I am on the DNC list yet get these calls regularly.

- SerenaThis was a recording coming in, regarding lowering interest rates, I chose the option to speak with an agent to request the phone number be removed as it is a business number. The agent then asked me how old I was, and said that I was in his age group. He then asked if I used facebook, I did not say. He then said he would talk to me on facebook I replied no you wont, and asked him what business he was calling from. To which he replied non of your business.

- David CoryRecorded voice said she was calling about my accounts with an un-named company. I hung up.
Isn't this type of fraud illegal? Why can't they be stopped?- Caller: Un-Named
- GailTired of getting calls that say, "lower your interest rates! Last chance!......" Gives an option to press "2" to get off list but directly puts me to an agent. Very rude and always get hung up on.

- Mrs BGot yet another call. Decided to pick up and pressed option 1. Got a male operator . I asked what company he was representing as I wanted these harassing calls to stop. He told me to 'F . . k off' I told him he was a scam artist and that he should be ashamed of himself. And, don' t ever call again and stop using the software giving a phoney phone number. For caller display. We are on the do not call registry but that doesn't seem to have any teeth.

- FedupCredit Card lower interest rate scam. They are using spoofed numbers and are phishing for your card number. If they get it they will make a large charge on your card within minutes. Only the phone company can stop it - but they won't!
When my wife tried to get information she was told "F*** off [***]" and he hung up.
If you have the spare time, press 1 and give him a fake credit card number like American Express 3759 876542 21001 and waste as much of his time as you can - maybe they will get the message not to call again. Just asking them not to call will not work!- Caller: real name not given
- Dianne MI didn't answer the call so they left a message on my answering machine about "lowering my interest rates" - I knew it was not relevant to any credit cards I have. The voicemail got into a cycle of "that is an invalid response - please press 1" so I finally answered it and pressed one and immediately said "Stop calling me!" The "gentleman" who answered insisted I had called him!!! I kept saying Stop calling me louder and louder and he eventually hung up.

- CindyI have asked them to take me off their call list 3 times and they have not complied. These companies should be given hefty fines for this. They call every day, sometimes twice!

- RGS1 replies to ns| 1 replythe CRTC DNC is crap and rarely enforced, it also requires that you re register every 6 months, something alot of ppl dont know and thier enforcement only applys to bona fide calls made in within Canada. I am a telecommunications/computer tech by trade and have worked in call centres in the past. its quite possible that you are getting called from india or some other foreign country through whats called a VPN (virtual private network) using a Canadian telephone # ,if this is the case, the countries that are doing this are not bound by the CRTC and can continue harrassing you. my suggestion is change your phone # and do not give it out to corporations that will sell your # to these scammers
- EssenzaReceived same BS call about lowering my interest rate, "there's no problem with my account," etc. They also call from 403-559-9874.
- annei answered the phone call ,but no one responded.
- Smarterthantheaveragetech replies to RGS1So you claim to be a telecommunications/computer tech! What a joke. If you were, then you would know that these companies use RNGs (random number generators). So going through the BS of changing your phone number is a total waste of time and/or money because eventually your new number will get called too.
You also know nothing about the CRTC's National Do Not Call List. You must re-register every 6 YEARS, not 6 months. Check your information before posting lies!
https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/faqs-eng - WallyScam claiming that they can lower my interest rates on my Visa. East Indian man asked if I was Mr. XXXXXX to which I replied, "no," and then proceeded to tell me that he could see I am in good standing and have made all my payments. I don't have a VISA.
- Caller: Visa Accounts (not true)
- TorontoVery annoying. Constant calls. And once I finally got fed up running for the phone to find another telemarketing call from this place, I decided to go through the options they offered to speak to someone to have my number removed. Of course, no matter which option, I got nowhere. No human. Just disconnected. They're obviously too busy scamming other customers to hand the calls they have coming in.
Erggggggg.- Caller: No name provided

- Warren2:50 pm 27 Sept 2014, received a call from 519-682-9090, usual robo call about 'my credit card', I pressed one to speak to the 'live operator" and nicely asked the woman to make these calls stop, she hung up on me. I called the number, to get a recording saying the number 'is not in service'. Next step is to see if the CRTC can do anything about it, other then sell the do not call list to companies.
