I own a boat interior company and I had a guy contact me(said his name is Bill Duff) and ask me if I accept credit cards. He said he was interested in buying 20 seats from me. There was also a shipping company  (Africue Worldwide Inc) who contacted me via email but only accepted bank transfer to the financial manager.The emails had no address or phone number from the shipping company.  I found there were red flags everywhere. The buyer also was in a hurry and was out of town and just wanted to proceed with the transaction. I asked him to call me and when he finally did, I searched and searched till I found this page.

I have gotten so many scams like this.  

One morning i got the 100 banner order from a church and i was going to buy them wholesale and make about 4 thousand just for typing out the letters and send the file to my wholesaler.  Why take the time to print hem and grommet  the banners when you can make a few thousand and just send a file.  

Well if i would have had the money in my bank account i would have put the order in the next day when the money showed in my account the next morning i would have put the order through and had to pay around $8,000 for the order.    If the money is in your account its seems legit.  I have 4 stores and been around for 13 years.   And i am from Jersey so its hard to pull one over on me.  

it was even my day off and i was working on the order calling a few poeple to see who i would use to make a quick 3 grand....   I thought it was a great gift its a church how can you go wrong.  But they are so stupid that i gave them a special price and they said they would pay full price.   That had me thinking....  So i googled the shipping company and found the email they send to me on a forum.  

I am sure so many people end up loosing there company to some crap like this.  Its like a dream come true.  But thanks for sites like this to help tell people if its to good to be true it is.

The email address does not exist...the language and usage in the post is a dead giveaway this is a scam. I was BCC'd on the email which went to another company that is defunct.

Richard Morrison (later his name changed briefly to John Morrison but back to Richard in a phone conversation) contacted us to order our products. He asked us to send 20 of our products to Norway and ship it only through Best Shippers, Inc. which quoted $4,850 for a shipment despite our repeated effort to tell him it costs less than 7$700 by Fedex, UPS or DHL. He was adamant that we should use this particular freight forwarder since his wife had a bad experience with Fedex, UPS or DHL and he was willing to pay $4,850 instead of paying less than $700. Another suspicious part of the deal was that he asked us to pay Best Shippers Inc. freight forwarder using our own check and he was going to use a credit card to prepay us upfront for the goods and the freight. Third suspicion arose since the address of his company was that of a court house.

This is a classic case of a scam since the credit card information he gave us was not his but someone else's. It is quite possible that the card was stolen or the owner of the credit card will dispute the payment afterwards while Mr. "Richard or John Morrison" could have cashed out our check of $4,850. We were about to lose the entire shipment worth close to $5,500 plus $4,850 our of our bank account. Only our astute shipping manager's and accounting manager's suspicions stopped us from losing more than $10,000 in this scheme.

Please beware of this type of fraud. He spoke in heavy European sounding accent that almost sounds like a disguise. If the shipping address is not on the card, one should be suspicious especially in international orders. All vendors who accept credit cards should be paying attention to thwart credit card scams like this.

OMG. We are a new business and not familiar with cons like this. So I received an e-mail for an order of 45 picture frames to be shipped to a church in haiti with a shipping company referred by them. I gave them total cost including shipping and received a credit card number. I made the transaction and then quickly called the card company I use to make the transactions for my business. I asked them if the transactions look legitimate and they said yes but it wont clear for 2-3 days. I have not ordered any materials or made any payments for shipping. Now what do I do? Will the money post to my account? And if it does what should I do with it?

Mr. Morrison just contacted us via email and wanted $7,000 worth of product sent to Norway. Checked google via BEST Shippers Inc and found this string. THANK YOU everyone for posting.  Who would be the proper authorities to contact to try and stop this? (Seems to focus on religion theme to some extent)

I got an email from Lonnie Mathis (new name!) using the 520-303-0789 number and wanting to know about our products.  Clearly a scam...right down to the terribly broken English.  So now there's a new name to watch out for.

We were providing digitizing services to this embroidery company known as sam embroidery club. These guyz are scammers, beware if any digitizng company got thier contract, beware they would not pay a single dime and make lame a$$ excuses.

This is a strange one. My sister-in-law owns her own business. She was contacted by someone about buying her machines. Same MO. But he paid for the machins and the shipping. $8,850. She has the money in hand. I told her it was probably a scam but I just can't figure out who is getting scammed. She has all the money. The machines are use for cutting cloth. If she ships them all her costs are covered and they get no money from her. Why would they steal a credit card and order these machines which are probably going to a fictitious address in South Africa? Do they plan to re-sell them? I told her to tell him they would ship in a week or so and then for her to call her bank. See if they can tell what bank the credit card had been issued from and contact them with the information. They can tell her if it has been stolen. I also told her not to spend one cent of the money which she of course said she would give back to the bank anyway if the card was stolen. I feel badly for the people that actually get scammed by these things. Maybe this will help someone to avoid this situation.

I found your web site Thank Goodness! I see the number above 520-303-0789 has tried this on other companys. I run a small business selling perfume trays retail & wholesale. This person wrote this below.Of course I have to take ever request serious. When I frist looked up this man> I couldn't find any thing on him."But" he started to ask question> I'll use my shipping company to pick it up the trays.
**What gets me is why is this person from 2009 until 2012 is able to use same email & phone number & use a stolen C.C. (Here what he wrote below: )

The Last time this happen to me was on Dec 15 2011 But the man called & used his C.C.
*** I called the FBI last time this happen the scammer almost got me for $8,000 Plus my product.
My guard was up & I went down to our local police dep. where I found out the card was stolen. I got no thank you from the C.C. people or the card holder. I refunded the money back to the card holder it took 4 mo to give it back.The FBI said it has to be over million in order to do any thing about it. That the internet is out of control & there's just not enough people to control this. Hello how many people are out of work?  and Who ends up paying for this >the tax payers.
I ask the C.C. company with this being such a lager purchase why can't the business owner who calls to see if its good standing> get a reply back from C.C. company it's in good standing? To find out latter the card holder was never notify.
As a business owner I want to change this. It takes up my time and it is out of control.

It's really out of control & so many small business are trying so hard to get orders to keep there doors open.
How it works: The person out of the country uses a stolen C.C. then he'll ask for his shipping company to pick up the product to save money. Of course you have done ever thing right as a business owner. You call made sure the card in good standing; so the business owner will argee to have them picked it up. ** Now a couple of months later you get a notice from the C.C. company saying someone has used a stolen C.C. and the business is resopnsible for paying it back. Now the business owner is out of his or her product & money. I know this personally it almost happen to me. Our Police depatment in FL. got a guy who it happen too. I was one of the lucky ones & double check by going to our police dep. My biggest complaint is when the business owner is doing every thing right > why are the .C.C. companys not notfiying the card holder? C.C. are sure to charge you a late fee if you for a couple of days late & calling asking for a payment. So why can't they pick up the phone & call the business owner & the card holder when you a large such a large order of $8,000 ** One more thing the business owner should have rights to asking the card holder for more information. Where was your last purchase etc.. This needs to chang & fast!
