got a call from this number.. they wanted my ss and kept demanding it and I refused. who are they?

Foreign accent Guys calling my work. Threating me with prison. Wants to talk to my attorney. State, I owe someone and they refuse to tell me who... I ask for fax, they refuse and just hang up. If I owe something I thought I had a righ to know... tired of the harrasing phone calls.

It's a SCAM. The first thing to do is call your phone company with the estimated time they called you and get the number they called you from, then contact your local police, on-emergency number, to report that someone is trying the blackmail you, threatening you with "consequences" if you don't pay $700 right away and you are scared for your safety. Tell the police they are impersonating an FBI agent

There is NO such thing as the Bureau of Crime Investigation - it does not exist.

If they call again, DO NOT give them any information. Say to them "Per the Fair Debt Collections Act, I am demanding you send me written proof of this debt to my home address within 30 days. And you are no longer allowed to contact me by phone. All communication must be in writing or I will file harassment charges against you" If they ask for your address, DO NOT give it. If you really owed the money they would have your address. And if they can't provide you with written proof, then you don't owe anything


And to be safe, you should run a credit report to make sure that you didn't apply for a loan through a fake site and they didn't take out a loan using your identity. A friend was getting calls from a collections agency that she assumed was a scam but then ran a credit report and found that she was the victim of identity theft and someone had not only taken out a loan, but also opened two store credit cards in her name without her knowledge

Yea.. its a total scam..called our place of business looking for someone.. must have called 19 times in a period of 15 minutes.. said his name was Patrick Thompson and he was with the law firm Morgan and Associates.. THICK indian accent.. so i'm sure his name is PATRICK THOMPSON.. what losers..told one of our staff that he was going to harass her and get her fired if she didn't pay..  Luckily we have a company attorney.. WHO'S REAL.. where can we turn these guys in??  they are so pathetic with the lies..but i would hate for anyone to believe them..

These people are calling me and my work saying I owe on payday loans. They are threating to file criminal charges. I have not ever had any payday loans, even if I had this would be a civil matter not a criminal matter.

I got a call today from this Patrick Thompson.. He was asking for my lawyers phone number. I ask him what this was about and he told me that I owed some pay day loan company like 3000 dollars and i owed them 811 dollars. I told him to send me the information and I would take care of it if I owed it... He told me that was not how it worked and I told him that was how it was going to work because that was the only way I would believe anything... I also told him that he didn't then don't call me phone anymore or I would file charges against him...He kept trying to tell me that 3 felony's were being filed against me...I told him a know the law.... About a month away a had a guy using a different name calling me and telling me they were going to have me arrested at my home or work if I didn't pay.. I ask who I was suppose to owe and he wouldn't tell me he just keep telling me that it was already filed in the court house and if I didn't pay by the end of the day he would walk across and let the charge go thru but when I ask what the case number was and what court house this was in he told me it was none of my business..... They are about to yet make me very angry.... I want to know how I can stop this....

They have called my business (a childcare center) hundreds of times over the past few months.  Today they called my employee a [***] when she had trouble understanding his accent.  Any idea how we can report them?

I received a couple of calls today from this number 540-650-7602 from someone named Michael Smith, very thick accent.  Said I needed to call him or have my attorney call him.  This is nothing but a SCAM.

Googled this while I was on phone with Jeffery Morgan of Morgan and Associates. I dont know what he was talking about because in America we try to speak english. WHen I told him I googled him and found this thread he began yelling at me. Said I would be in Jail within 20 minutes. What a jerk. Well if I go to jail I will surely update this blog.

I do have payday loan but am up to date so this is a scam.Plus I am on Federal DO NOT CALL LIST.
