It is a survey company.  They are doing political polls.

540-904-1964 calls frquently and you can hear the caller hang up. I don't do surveys so I won't answer.

"WWW.VENTUREDATA.COM is who they are. They do political polls, surveys, etc. They tell you to go to their website and under the tab "policy regarding do not call" you can add your phone number to the list."

Called me on my cellphone and left no message and I now block you.

These guys called me for what they said was going to be a 15 min poll, and I agreed to take it.  When the first three questions revealed that I'm a middle-age white man, the caller had no more questions to ask me.  I even prompted him to give me the remaining 14 minutes of questions, and he declined.  Keep this in mind next time you read or hear poll results.  A poll can say anything they want it to say as long as they ask the right people, and refuse to ask anyone who they don't think will give the answers to support the lies the poll intends to prove.  Modern polls are worthless misinformation.

Didn't answer, they didn't leave a message.

Called again this evening (who calls on Sunday evenings??), left no message.

If I put my number on the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL list, then it covers calls like this. Problem is, no one looks at it. I should not have to go to a company website. If you want to call me, without a reason (like selling something or polls and not confirming an appointment or letting me know something is ready) and I don't know you, it is YOUR responsibility to check the national registry. To expect customers to register again with you is ridiculous. As said before, that is the reason for the NATIONAL registry.  I will not verify ANYTHING - not one piece of information.  If you call my number and then ask what my name is, red flag. You should be able to tell me - YOU called ME.  There are way too many scams out there.
