She asked for friends names and phone numbers and I told her no! I asked her what type of company this was, she was evasive and said she couldn't tell me because it was personal. - Do Your Own Research DCS!Call came into our real estate office today at 9:00am from 541-955-7800, and our display said it was: DCS INC. The man-caller asked for a specific person. The caller wanted to know if this man was an agent in our office. I checked our local Realtor publication and could not find the name he was looking for. I could hear background noise of multiple people talking...like a mass telemarketing center. Because our company is national, he asked if I could look up this man's name. I put him on hold, went online and 'Googled' DCS INC. "Diversified Collection Services" came up. FROM ONE BUSINESS TO ANOTHER....DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK!!! DONT ASK THE PERSON AT THE FRONT DESK OF AN OFFICE THAT OBVIOUSLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR COLLECTION CALL TO DO YOUR RESEARCH!! YOU HAVE A JOB, RIGHT? DO IT.
- Caller: Diversified Collection Services
- Smart!!!! Dont think so!| 1 replyThis lady Rita Hill called my personal phone asking for my brother, she didnt want to leave a message for him, neither a number. I asked her who she works for and she said DCS and when I asked her what that company stands for she refused to tell me and ended up saying that she was not going to share his info with me. His info? What does that have anything to do with identifying who do you work for? She was rude and told me to have him available on the line lol DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!!! I called back and an operator transfer me to her right away which she answer inmmediatley but I thought she said she couldnt leave me a phone # because she was never available at her desk? I guess she didnt think there are smarter people than her out there. DONT WAIST MY TIME AND GET A LIFE.....THIS PEOPLE ARE A FRAUD THEY WANT YOUR SS RIGHT AWAY AND WHO KNOWS IF THEY EVEN HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH YOU OR NOT.....FRAUD....FRAUD

- WallyDCS is Diversified Collection Services. The keep calling me to talk to my son, who lives a thousand miles away. I don't doubt that they are calling about a college loan he hasn't been paying, and about which they have been sending him dunning letters. To that extent, DCS is at least quasi-legitimate. However, many people on these sites do report scam-type questions.
- Michael| 4 repliesThis number called and hung up.
I called back and they said to have my account or social security number ready. I was able to speak to a representative briefly but she passed me on to voice mail. I searched the number and found a company called DSC operating out of Grants Pass, Oregon, my hometown. I am planning on contacting the police to make them aware of this situation. If they call you please do the same. The non-emergency number for the Grants Pass Police Department is 541-474-6370- Caller: DSC
- BarbaraCalled from this number to my cell phone and while ringing I googled it and did not answer...
- NicoleReceived an odd call from this number. Saying "Nicole, is your birthdate Feb. 2?" (No hello or anything professional.) They asked if I were Nicole (last name) or Nicole (last name). I wasn't. They got off quickly. Not rude but just really odd (felt like they were fishing for info. or something). I called the Grants Pass, OR police (Thanks for that suggestion!). They are a legitimate business in Grants Pass and are a collection agency specializing in student loans. (I have none. So, I don't know what that's all about!)
- Caller: DCS, Inc.
- Suspicious| 1 replyThese people called my next door neighbor looking for me... They were fishing for info but didn't get any. That is crazy calling my neighbor!!! I called them and asked what was going on and they person cut me off in mid sentence and transferred me to someone's voicemail. Sounds like they are up to something that is not good...
- not a suckerGot a letter stating that my wife owed a default loan from a company that she never got a student loan from: USA Funds, Inc. Not a call but had the mentioned number of 541-955-7800 and 209-858-0600, 800-927-7667. I worked for state and federal loan programs in the past; the process to collect on default loans is totally wrong in the letter. It was total fraud, so watch out for misleading information and don't sent any money. Number traced through my sources ended up as unlisted, residential number; not registered as a business.
Letter was written by Jim King, DCS. - annonymousi just hung up on them...
i luv that we can communicate with eachother about this - JamieThey have called twice tonight. I never answer numbers that I don't know, so I let it go to voicemail, when they didn't leave a message either time, I googled the number and found this site. So glad that I didn't answer! I have been phone Phished before! I won't make that mistake again!
- oneofmany| 1 replymy step daughter borrowed $50,000 from some whack school loan company...then never has paid back a dime..we get calls daily from collection agencies looking for her, she lives in another state. This is a new one but seem to be school loan collection agency. BTW---instruct your family and friends to NEVER put your name on any type loan as "contact person, nearest family member, or anything else. YOU are the one collections will contact, relentlessly, to try and find them! We have turned our house phone ringer off!!
- KM| 3 repliesI am from Jamaica and I keep getting calls from this number, 15419557800. Now if this is related to any type of US dollar student loan I know they definitely have the wrong person cause I have never borrowed any US$ student loans, or any overseas loans for that matter. In fact I've never been outside of Jamaica for any form of education. A man had called before, I think from this same DCS, and I made it quite clear that they have the wrong person but they still calling. Where can I report them seeing as though I live outside of the US?
- gigi| 1 replyI get calls from this # repeatedly. I live in Minnesota, am 82 years old and don't have any student loans. Beware of giving out any information.
