Didn't answer, they didn't leave a message

Called and left a message that sounded like an old dial up modem.

Automated telemarketer. Auto insurance. Irritating.

Nationwide Insurance ad

It's a solicitation for reduced insurance; based in the Fresno, CA area; if / when you call back, you'll have the option of 1) speaking with an agent 2) being put on their DNC list or 3) getting a call back.

I selected 2 - and asked to speak to a supervisor; the agent will ask about the issue, apologize, tell you that that they get their numbers from a 3rd party marketing firm then quickly hang up.

I call back and spoke with a 'Nicholas'; I asked to know who I was speaking with at the outset.  I asked the name of the agency:  Insurance Placement Center.  'Nicholas' identified himself as a supervisor, then asked if I was interested in either a quote or to be placed on the DNC list.  I asked for the Insurance License #; his response:  'Why? So that you can complain!?  No...' and he hung up.

Just as they purport to record the call, so have I; and I will find Nicholas' surname - and move forward accordingly.

how do you sign up for "do not call" on your cell phone?  This call is a complete invasion of privacy.

I got a call from them last night. It was a recorded message to my cell phone. Both of which are illegal for them to do. The recording identified itself as Nationwide Insurance Co. My caller ID said it was from 559-513-8480 which is a Fresno number. That's where I live so I'm gonna go over there today if I can find it and confront these a$$ holes.

Also, let's all teach them a lesson by:

1. Don't buy Nationwide Insurance

2. Take a couple of minutes to file a complaint with the FCC. I have done this before and it actually works! Here is the place to file:   http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

Called and hung up w/o leaving a message. They had better not make a habit out of this, this is my cellphone and my ONLY phone. If they do it again I'm going to use the link left by the last poster.
