- JasonSame experience, I am in trouble with IRS, not the IRS just IRS and blah blah blah. I asked them to verify who I was and they said they couldn't tell me my name because it is private information and I had to "verify" my information with them first.
- Caller: Bocan Raton, FL
- Tony dCaller claimed I was going to be arrested for IRS mistakes on my filing for the past 5 years. Somehow the caller had some of my tax claims- must have hacked into turbo tax system. I am waiting for a call back from Turbo Tax right now. I am also calling the police in my local precinct I live in NYC.
- Caller: Claimed to be IRS
- Red| 1 replyI've received a few calls, leaving different numbers; foreign accents. Is there a place to report these calls?
- KarinSame as described above. Call us about legal predation, tax fraud, and tax evasion or else.

- Call type: Prank
- Not really replies to RedNot really. To answer your question this, along with the Windows virus scam ,is the biggest scam running around the US and Canada at the moment. These calls, generally, are coming from the Indian sub-continent using spoofed numbers to simulate US state codes and random number generators to call phone numbers. Cut a long story short, they say you owe $xxx but if you pay now by cc you will get a discount and the debt will be cancelled along with any legal proceedings. As there was no debt or legal proceedings anyone who pays has opened the door to have their account emptied and their details abused until you cancel your cards .
If you owe any taxes the IRS will send you a letter by secure mail and will only call if you give them permission. They do not cold call!!!!!! Never pay over the phone to a stranger.
Oh, by the way , debt collectors are the third biggest scam. - Kevin LewisCaller was Indian I believe, name was Jack Smith, said I must call or my attorney must call due to an IRS urgent matter. If I don't call back, I have been warned. I called back from my work phone, the # and asked for Jack Smith, he said "this is Jack Smith, I asked what he wanted, because he called me, he immediately hung up the phone.

They called in a foreign accent (Indian or Middle Eastern) saying it was urgent I or my attorney of record call back, an extremely time sensitive issue of tax fraud/evasion, to call Jack Smith of the Internal Revenue System at 561-208-3049. Do not disregard this message. Call before it gets worse or gets out of hand. Good luck… BTW, I blocked this person from calling cell, so we’ll see if another calls back and does same scam next week from a different number (like already happened with this phone number before 347-321-9773.) ***Please Remember: the IRS doesn't call you, they always communicate in mail.- Caller: 561-208-3049
- DSame experience word for word as the others above. Jack Smith from the IRS, very poor English. Wished me luck if either I or my attorney did not call him back. 2nd such call I've received in the last year.
