This call came to my mobile in England. Caller said he was representing investments based in USA. I said that I was not interested. Surprised that they wanted to call a UK mobile number.

Like BMWrider, I was rung on my mobile yesterday by a very pushy financial whizz-kid faking that he was surprised when I said I didn't recognize his phone number or company name.

When I pointed out I was happy with any financial knowledge or help that I already have, he tried persuading me that I shouldn't regard my existing knowledge/help as having a monopoly on all useful matters.

Despite confirming I wasn't interested in his call, he wouldn't give up so I resorted to telling him to "f*** off and stop wasting my time".

Even then, he still hoped I'd "have a nice day".

I got a call from this number on my phone in switzerland. The person even looked after my name so I was little surprised when he call me by my name. He also told something of a financial investments in the US but I repeated that I don't have a clue who he is and so on..Then he hung up..

Strange that they even try Swiss phone numbers

Received a call from this number on my mobile in UK today. Didn't recognise the number so didn't answer. Looked up the company that the number comes down to on the internet (Brook Street Securities) and surprise, surprise their website page doesn't open as the browser can't be found.

Same as Woohoo. Didn't answer as I knew it was a USA number. looked it up and found lots of bad news regarding Brook Street Securities.....do these people think everyone is stupid?

Same number, didn't answer, looks like theyre pestering.

Got some clown sounding like a breakfast radio DJ calling me at 6.20pm on Boxing Day when I'm with my family. Has the already annoying tele sales industry become so pathetic now that they have to ring other countries during the holiday season? How the hell did they get my UK mobile number in the USA?

Same story here, call received at 7pm to a UK mobile. I don't answer numbers that I don't recognise and after looking here I'm glad I didn't answer this one either.

Same as everyone else, call from this number asked for me by name them hung up ! Watch out scammers are calling from the USA now !

Got a call from some guy in Florida working for Garden State Securities. Asked him how he got my London cell number and he didn't re-state his name when I asked him, or who his company was. Which was worrying. Very pushy.
I asked him where he got my information from and he said "3rd party marketing company". Declined to say who it was.

Exactly the same as Alex just now. He even asked if I was still living at my current address which he knew. I asked him where he got my details from and he said they were from some list of investors even though I've never done anything like that.

Someone called me from this number but he didn't say very much as the call was cut off. After checking this I realised that so many people have been contacted in UK by these people, so I blocked it on my iphone.

Was driving when these clowns tried ringing me, it came up as a USA Florida number so I wouldn't of answered it anyway

Got a call on my UK mobile just now from this number. Asked to speak to Stuart, so I said that was me. Then he just said "OK. Thank you." and hung up. Very strange.

Had a call this evening onto my mobile but I didn't answer - glad I didn't after seeing this.

Yup - I had this today.  Call from Garden State Securities.  A very friendly sounding guy wanting to send out some "free information" - the strange thing is he quoted my home address perfectly.  Really strange.  He wanted me to transfer my stocks and shares.  When I told him I didn't have any stocks or shares he said it must be a computer error and apologised.  Very strange...

This guy called me on my mobile in England. As soon as he said I am calling from Florida. He said his name. I said who are you? before he could explain I ended he call.

Just received the call, I answered, mainly due to curiosity, they said they were from 'Garden State Securities' which comes up when googled, and also BrookStreet Securities... After not a lot of digging the latter went busy in 2007, I was called about UK investments or something, I wasn't really listening because I wasn't interested and I was annoyed by his politeness... Because you know, being polite is threatening.

He also used my previous address, so the information has been gained from some sort of register, and I haven't signed up to vote etc. at my current address.
