- Chris| 1 replyThis is a scam! Guy has a strong Indian accent. I put him on hold. When I came back in about 10 minutes, he was still there. I told him to call me at fourteen o'clock, not thinking of military time. At this point when he calls, I just keep stringing him along.
I've found the best way to get rid of these people is to ask them questions about what kinda of underwear, etc.. they are wearing. I guess I just have a sick sense of humor!- Caller: Indian Computer Scam!
- Kitkat replies to ChrisThat's a good one Chris. I let him go on and on and finally told him I was getting a strange message. I told him it told me that he was a hacker and don't ever call my house again. He told me "I call you every single day" so I just ended the call with a loud continual scream in his ear! Jerk!
- SallieThese people call daily - even at 6am! I told him to put me on his do not call list and he said NO! They should be arrested. Scammers!
- ShudahHave had repeated calls from this number..everyone sounds like the same guy from India, but many different names are used. Have reported this number to consumer affairs for our state and hope they get shut down. Very annoying.
- TommyThis sounded way too scammy so I told him to call back so I could research the number. I found these postings and when he called back I said 'Hey it turns out I have a Mac." He responded in his thick accent 'well then you a dumb [***]' and he immediately hung up. It did make me laugh but I would love to report him to someone. Thoughts? The second time he called it was from phillip.martin7 and the number was 502 365 5594
- Call type: Telemarketer
- DeannaWow! Just got this call and he said that the same thing....to shut my computer down and go to Windows and to work on it. What? I told him I have no issue and to not call me anymore. HIS phone kept hanging up and then he called back 3x and then he asked me why I hung up ??? Not sure, but asked him not to call me back.
- patti| 2 repliesA man with a strong Indian accent told me he was "with Windows" and said my computer "is infected." I asked him to prove he was "with windows" and he said: "I will tell you your computer license number right now." I told him to go ahead and do that. He then instructed me to hit "control R" and a few other keys. I did NOT want to follow his instructions, so I said that I already was looking at my "computer license number" and to tell me what it said. I also asked for his name and company. He told me his name was "Steve Smith" and he was calling from Salt Lake City. The number on my caller ID, however, was from Ohio. He then insisted that I press Control R, but I told him I was already looking at my "license number" and challenged him to tell me what I was looking at. We went back and forth like this for a few minutes until he finally rattled off a number that had NO connection to my operating system license number or anything. I then asked him if he had a mother who was alive. He said "of course I do." I then told him to ask himself if his mother would want him to cheat people. He hung up on me.
- James replies to patti| 1 replyThis scam is as old as the hills. It must have been one of the first scams to originate from the invention of computers. It's amazing that these people are still trying it on. I've had 'Steve Austin' amongst others phone me. The Six Million dollar man, no less! These thieves are parasites. Vermin.
- patti replies to JamesThey really are vermin. :-( And I meant it when I asked the guy if he had a mother and would she want him to cheat people. Where is their conscience? :-( Awful.
- J HI got the call, he said his name was Joe and he was from Microsoft. I was thinking this guy is a real idiot, I mean Joe...really!
He proceeded with his bull about my computer and I told him that I did not own a computer, he was speechless. He finally hung up without another word. My best suggestion is to just tell them you don't own a computer. They have not called me since. LOL- Call type: Prank
- papajoecaller i.d. says from OHIO....TOLEDO
