This number for me was a sales call for insurance.

This number was my insurance company Unitrin auto insurance

unitrin sounds familiar for me too

This is Unitrin, a company that gives insurance quotes. I filled out an online questionnaire to get auto insurance quotes and got a call back from these folks.

When I ask for my insurance quote I ask them specifically to email me - under additional comments!!

I filled out an online quote thing too and put in a fake phone number but a real address cause I don't use a land line, and  IF I want to talk to a sales person I want to directly initiate that conversation. I guess they are too stupid to get the hint that someone with the phone number 222-0001 might not want to be called.  I don't know HOW they got my cell number.. but I guarantee they just lost all hope of my ever being a customer.

Yes the 570.496.2000 is Unitrin Direct Insurance.  This company claims online they are the cheapest company.  Mind you I completed the info, received a quote of $40 a month, completed documents online, scanned in requested docs and emailed them during the policy set up.

Unitrin claims they never obtained any info from you as far as the docs they requested.  Mainly they will say something like, "We never received your prior insurance confirmation or declerations page, therefore we will charge you over a $20-$30 difference" and of course this happens right at the time they are pulling out money from your checking so you will pay more.

Unitrin is very good at not being able to find documents, when I canceled I had not had the policy long at all.  I called in canceled they ask for a copy of my new insurance, I again scan the information, call in verify the rep received this, Unitrin confirms they did.  Now, I have the name of the rep, date, time, etc.  guess what they email telling me they never receive this informaiton and they are turning me into a collection agency.

I call in today to settle this once and for all.  Of course over 30 days have passed because I refuse to communicate with them over the phone, I want emails frmo this place so they cannot lie and say they never get anything I send.

Well, Unitrin does not want to play the email game!  UNITRIN WANTED TO EMAIL ME DAY AND NIGHT WHEN THEY WERE BILLING ME BUT NOW THAT I WANT ALL COMMUNICATIONS IN WRITTING SO I CAN PROVE WHAT IS SAID, WHEN AND WHAT IS RECEIVED, ETC.  

UNITRIN NO LONGER WANTS TO EMAIL, THEY WANT TO CALL ME AT LEAST 10 TIMES A DAY!

I am done with this company, they are claiming low rates to suck you in, guess what there coverage is not worth the savings and the hassle you get along with all the problems this company causes is NOT WORTH IT TO ME!

I WILL NEVER AGAIN DO ANY FORM OF BUSINESS WITH UNITRIN DIRECT.  

BY THE WAY UNITRIN, I HAVE NOW CHANGED ALL MY PHONE NUMBERS TO YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT, YOU COLLECTION AGENCY COMPANY AND MY LAWYER.

Complaints have now been filed with the Better Business Bureau, State Attorney Generals Office and my lawyer who is more than happy to talk to you on the phone.  

Have fun talking to folks that answer those lines.

I have to say I liked reading your post.

I have never thought about putting the telemarketers numbers back in for them to call themselves, or lawyers or Better Business company.

That is a great idea!  Way to stand your ground!!

Insurance sales.

I called this number back and it goes to Diversified Consultants a debt collector.

It is Unitrin, I've been with them for years and Never had any problems. This is like the 2nd call I've had in years.
In response to the person complaining about them as a company....if you really have a problem then why waste your time complaining on a phone number look up site?

Spam call, I'm guessing. Sounds like insurance [***] from the other comments, and I have made no inquires or asked anyone for a quote. No voicemail left. Another number to add to the ignore list.
