I received a voice message from a person with a British accent saying this was his direct line and if me or my attorney don't get back in touch with him then the liability would fall on me.  He never said his name, where he was calling from, what he was calling about and he never said my name.  When I called the number back, I got a Verizon recorded message saying that my call could not be completed as dialed.  This is obviously one of those scams.

I received 2 calls from this number within 1hr 13mins apart.  It is a recording of some gentleman stating is name is Shawn Right, and if I or my attorney did not call back, then something about legal action will be taken.  Says something about taxes.
I tried calling back the number, to see what it was about exactly, and it just rings and rings.

Same here, british accent, identified himself as OFFICER sean white and stated his number several times.  He threatened that if my attorney of I didn't call him back, "then the legal situation unfolds on you.  Have a nice day, goodbye".

Got this call this morning. Was a little frightened until they said they had been auditing me since 2008 (in which I was 15 years old.) I filed a complaint with my University's OIT department and local police department because they had so much of my information (IE name and location.) It's a fraudulent misrepresentation of the IRS. Have some fun with them, make things up, act interested or scared. They're just your typical scammers.

I received a call from this number today 571-207-8536 saying the same thing. I immediately called back from another phone and the guy answered the phone saying he was an agent with the IRS and I was a suspect in a case.....blah, blah. Well he spoke fast so I said "I'm sorry can you repeat what you just said?" He then said he was detective Kevin Peterson with the Internal Revenue Service. I said "ok so who exactly are you calling?" and then he hung up. I really feel like this is a FRAUD/SCAM call especially since he hung up.

SOB called me too. Where's the FBI, NSA . ?

This number called me this morning. I didnt recognize it so i didnt answer. The guy left a voicemail saying he was officer sean white and that me or my attorney must call me. Something about a legal matter. I have none that i know of. Number is now blocked.

Says irs invastgator false! !! They have nothing to do with irs scam. They also use a California area code 818 533 9746. I call the irs the first contact irs makes with you is  by mail . they do not call you i was told by irs. Do not send them any money or give them any info call irs to report them with phone number

I just got the same call from officer Sean White but he did introduced himself as an agent of the Internal Revenue Service or IRS. I spoke to him, he was looking for my mother. The moment I identify myself as her attorney, he immediately hung up the call. I called back several times with no success. Guys this is obviously a scam. IRS agents have id numbers that they provide to you every single time you are on the phone with them before any business is discussed. Just report him to the local authorities.

This call should be considered criminal; slanderous and espousing falsehood. I will go beyond this website to prosecute.

I live in Illinois I also got a phone call from 571-207-8536 from a guy with a not a true British accent (sounded like someone Asian posing as British) saying that I or my attorney need to call the number due to a tax situation otherwise the liability would fall on me.   I knew this was a scam because I am a CPA.    The IRS or state departments of revenue do not call people with tax liability issues - they send notices via the postal service.  They definitely leave their name and title on a message if they do.  This is not legit, do not call the number.

This number also called me. I called back and heard alot of background noise that sounded like an auction going on. I did not answer him and hung up. If he was an officer of the tax collector why isnt he in a quiet office answering his calls?? I may just answer the next time he calls. I dont think he will have the right answers to my questions.

states he is an officer and to call back or have my attorney call back; if no response the legal situation unfolds on me!

I got the same call left a message stating that if I do not call back it would unfold on me or my attorney. This is a scam!!

Same exact thing with me. Should we all call to report to IRS?
