This caller claims to be a detective, yet has a foriegn accent like their Hindu. Sounds like a scammer. They tell you if you or attorney does not call they take further action. SCAM!!!!!

Besides, a detective does not call and make threats over the phone. They visit where you are and ask to to answer question there or in the police station.

I knew it was a scam.  Called the number back and they said, "IRS can I help you"?  I said "IRS right"?  Since I am a Federal employee and they probably saw that they hung up!

This was a caller that called my cell phone AND left a message stating they were the  IRS and if they didnt hear from my attorney or I that "it was all on You" (is what I understood,  because i could NOT understand hardly a WORD they said being that "english" was NOT their primary language...they sounded asian) Anyway they called again today and I returned the call and they basically said I had "defrauded the IRS" and they were going to arrest me in 40 min, freeze my bank account, put a lien on my property and car (good luck with that!) and told me to not "interrupt" them while they read the "affidavit" over the phone to me. So I did not speak while they read it and I have no clue if they were "collecting information" while they had me "silenced" or not. They did ask if i had any questions and then when I questioned why I hadnt been "informed in writing" or that I had no idea of WHY i was being accused of such a thing...they tried to tell me in so many words but I really couldnt understand them at all and told them so...then they hung up they just "hung up" on me. My mother said she had recieved a "similar" call a week ago but she accidentally "deleted" the number and message, and that she was scared someone was going to come after her.  These people did not ask for money and I did not give them much information, although I dont know how much info they had collected from me before hand. They had  more "information" than I wanted them to have however, and that is cause for concern. I suspect this is a SCAM, (but we shall see....if im not here in a couple of days....we'll know huh? )
