- Newt| 3 repliesGot a call and it asked if I had diabetes or back pain. If 'yes' press 1 and if 'No' press 2 to be removed, so I pressed 2 to be removed. When I asked, the woman said the name of the company is 'American Seniors Assistance' or 'American Senior Assistance'. With her accent I couldn't quite tell if the Senior was plural or not. Looked it up on google and couldn't find it. I asked if this was a government agency and she said 'NO'. I asked to be removed from the list. Caller ID showed the call came from Washington, DC.

- Loki| 2 repliesThese "US HealthCare Supply of Milford, NJ" (real company hiring robocall telemarketers, http://www.ushsnj.com/ ) calls are Medicare fraud on top of any illegal cell calls (fcc.gov issue) or DoNotCall violations (FTC.gov issues). Medicare fraud complaints against the underlying scammer may be lodged by uploading an information doc or pdf file of complaint info, or voice calling, the Office of Inspector General at HHS.gov:

I was robocalled by this three tier scheme this morning, and then first handed off to someone identifying as John at "American Seniors Assistance", dodging around claiming to be in or working with an agency in Fairfax, VA (from which I'm about 150 miles away). John asked about diabetes and back pain, and when I said yes to both, quizzed me for a date of birth to refer me to the local supplier. Cooperating with his script, but acting confused, it turned out he was working from a list with both my parent's names and my address and DoNotCall registered land line, but did not identify a fake date of birth pretending to be my father as fake. I was caring for my parents from 2002 to 2004, while my father died in 2006 (as to quality of the telemarketer information).
John described "American Seniors Assistance" as a nonprofit organization, which normally is an exception to DoNotCall, but not if it's a fraud, and being used to market Medicare funded DME (Durable Medical Equipment) for which most outbound telemarketing is banned by Medicare law (including for contractors acting on behalf of approved suppliers).
In pretensing my dead father (it seemed John expected to reach my institutionalized mother with severe dementia), I qualified for John's questions and was forwarded to a girl whose name was mumbled rapidly at "H Pas", to find the "agency allocated provider in area". She never spelled out that acronym, which is similar to those of several real healthcare administrator and regulation titles, as others reporting these calls were told "Health Product Assistance for Seniors". The H-PAS girl largely repeated the same questions John used, and offered the "no pain talking meter" and "supplies delivered at no cost", but dodged around what kind of "back pain solution" that "could be worn under or over cloths" would be supplied without a doctor's visit. The talking meter and back brace descriptions are consistent with products featured on US Healthcare Supply's Web site.
This promotion would also appear to be Postal Fraud open to Postal Inspector investigations, as these supplies were promised for delivery by US Mail.
After the H-PAS girl's review of my confused mostly just "yes" answers (in the guise of my dead father), she offered to connect me to the same suppllier others were told, a 2 year old business run by a Jon Letko according to corporate record checks, US Healthcare Supply of Milford NJ. She gave me the phone 855-350-2509 for them when I asked if there was one "just in case we get disconnected". She then forwarded me to them, and a Victor Gonzales, who sounded like an actual American employee for the first time, and not some overseas boilerroom worker. Their info from corporate and directory lookups:
http://www.ushsnj.com/
US HealthCare Supply
(877) 521-1555
US Healthcare Supply LLC
(908) 505-1800
60 Bridge St, Milford, NJ 08848 (also 14 Bridge St., P.O. Box 372)
Jon Letko, Pres.& Manager founded 2009, registered also in Florida 2011
The H-PAS girl told Victor the name, address, and phone the original caller had in his files for my father, and the fake date of birth and diabetes plus back pain conditions I gave him, before dropping off the call she forwarded to him. Victor then started verifying info, but claimed I called them and said they don't call out and that he cannot do business with anyone outwardly called, as if he's either a trained liar or is trained in Medicare marketing law and didn't know his boss is using a criminal scam. Victor denied that his company pays telemarketers to make outbound calls as I received. I asked for his supervisor, to whom he declined to connect me, but did agree to email the boss about my being illegally telemarketed.
Ultimately, the criminal fraud contractors using a variety of fake CID numbers probably via VOIP aren't likely within FTC or FCC jurisdiction. If anyone receives any supplies as a result of a parent falling for this scam, that invites a Postal Fraud complaint. Primarily though, if Jon Letko personally in any present or future company, and the current one US Healthcare Supply LLC of NJ and registered in FL and maybe other states, are banned from doing business with Medicare, their scam is shut down.
HHS OIG Medicare marketing fraud complaints may be phoned in at the number above, or prepared as a simple text file of tipster identified or anonymous information, and then uploaded after some pull down menu routing and category selections using the "REPORT FRAUD NOW" button at the OIG.HHS.gov link above. Specific dates, times, numbers called, and addresses or names they appear to already have are useful, though anonymous complaints are also accepted by both phone and that Web link (and could contribute to the case being made higher priority).- Caller: US Healthcare Supply LLC

- Jamie replies to NewtI just had the identical call. The caller had an Indian accent and was named "Bonnie." I asked the same questions as Newt, except Bonnie told me American Seniors Assistance was a non-profit. Non-profit, my ass. I told her I was on the Do Not Call list and hung up.
- JamieI just got a call asking if I were a senior who suffered from diabetes or back pain. If "Yes" press 1 and if "No" press 2 to be removed, so I pressed 1 so I could find out who it was. (I'm on a Let's-Pay-Attention-to-the-Do-Not-Call-List Crusade.) When I asked, the woman, with an Indian accent and the name "Bonnie," said the name of the company is American Seniors Assistance. I asked if this is a government agency, and she said "No;" it is a non-profit. I then told her I was on the DNC list, and asked that I be removed from hers. I do not have caller ID.

- Ben in Maine replies to LokiGreat detective work, Loki! I just got this same Medicare fraud in the form of a personal call from 849-963-4853. I was suspicious but went along to see what they were up to. They were just about to hook me up with a "Medicare Provider" who would make me a custom back brace, no doubt at great expense to taxpayers. The "American Seniors Assistance" guy was very disappointed that he couldn't help me (i.e. wouldn't make his commission) because my secondary health insurance is an HMO.
I will report to the Inspector General - PBI just got this call. A women with a heavy (indian ?) accent called saying she was from the "American Seniors Assistance". I had a little trouble understanding her, so asked her again for the name. Then she said something about helping people who are on Medicare which I didn't understand. (Sometimes I play along with these people if I have nothing better to do, to see what kind of information I can get from them.) She asked me if I had diabeties or back pain. I said "Who said I was on Medicare?" (I'm not.) Then to see what she'd say, I said "hold on, let me look up your organization on the internet." Then I thought, F it, I've got things to do. I told her that I was on the "do not call" list, and to please take my number off her call list and hung up. I do not have caller ID, so don't know what number she called from.

- Fighting back in Boston replies to LokiToday I received a call from "American Seniors Assistance" and when I pressed "2" to be removed from their automated system, I was connected to a woman named "sarah" who identified the company. When I asked to be removed from their list, the line went dead. I return-dialed the number: 849-963-4853 and it was just a fast-busy. Thank you to Loki for the detective work. I've submitted report to Office of the Inspector General.
- Chellis SwensonI just received the same call from MEG, and I was in the midst of doing at least 5 other things getting ready for Christmas so it caught me off guard. I was cautious but got so far as to be "approved to talk to a Medicare provider" and switched over to a man named Rano Adam (interesting name). Every person I talked with had a strong accent, spoke slowly and insisted they were calling from Fairfax, VA or New Jersey. I said I would need to check them out first and they gave me this website. I also checked with my doctor's office and they said I should check with my health insurance provider. Then I read this particular web information. There is no doubt I will not follow up and am glad I was cautious and DID NOT give them my medicare number. Rano Adam said I could call him back at 888-244-0098 in order to continue.

- Patjo| 1 replyThis bunch is indeed scammers who signed on to help US Healthcare Supply. They had bought out another company's list who had gotten in trouble with Medicare for fraud. No one would answer the customer care phone of two different numbers. I finally picked another choice and got a foreigner who said he would remove me from the list. I have reported them to the HHS fraud hotline. These are boiler room robocalls, and they try to get you to give permission to call Medicare by pushing 1. If you don't give permission you are told to punch #2, but nothing happens and you are told this is not a proper choice. They want to catch old people by them pushing #1. The foreign guy also tried to sell me a back brace. DEFINITELY A SCAM!

- barcar| 1 replyI just received the call, also. Same situation, it was a prerecorded and said to press 1 if you have diabetes or back pain. Press 2 for no.
When I pressed 1, a man who identified himself as 'Mark Howard' started his spiel. I politely interrupted him and asked for the name of the business, and a phone that I could call back, in case we were cut off. He told me a quick BS about not being able to call them back, so I asked where they were from. His answer was Fairfax, VA.
When I asked to speak to his supervisor, he wanted to know why. I started to explain that I have been on the National Do Not Call Registry since its inception, and that this was an illegal telemarketing call. He promptly hung up on me.
I Googled their name, and have come with several different phone numbers in different area codes. One that I did find in Fairfax, VA. is 703-844-1212.
Folks, the only thing that is going to stop these s.o.b.'s is to sue them in Small Claims Court. My research shows that about 99% of these cases are successful. The judgement that you receive starts at $1500.00, and another $1500.00 is added for various parts of the DNC law that they have broken.
If they don't show up, you automatically win. It's a 'default judgement'. I've made a few bucks from these scum already, and I'm going back to court to file several more.
By the way, the court fees, etc. that you pay to file a case, will come back to you if you win. The defendant has to pay them.
Good luck to all.- Caller: American Senior(s) Assistance

- JB replies to NewtI got this same call today. I have registered my phone number on the national do not call list. I pressed 2 to have my name removed from the list, but a woman came on the line, then she hung up abruptly when I mentioned that I was only trying to remove my number.
Let's forward all such calls to our congressional representatives until this nonsense stops. - JudyI received a call from "American Senior Assistance" today. I Googled the name and found out that it is a call coming in from the Dominican Republic. They have established this company in the Dominican Republic because they can get through to you even if you have registered your phone with the National Do Not Call Registry. Then with a little more research...yes I'm persistent...I found that I can manage anonymous calls with my Comcast account using this link. Thank God for Comcast ~!~ I'm sure that this can be accomplished though your own telephone companies but I just happen to have Comcast.
I didn't purse contact with the person on the line but I'm a retired nurse and I know the Medicare system pretty well and know that you don't order things through telemarketers, however I did lead her on enough to get the information I needed to block her or her bogus company from calling me again. Thank you all for reporting this to the Office of the Inspector General.- Caller: American Senior Assistance

- peterrlSame story. Phone call from 849-963-4865, recorded message tells me to push 2 on the phone if not interested and want my name removed. I clicked 2 and the rep began giving me a sales pitch. I told her I pushed 2 to get my name and number removed whereupon she hung up.

- Adel| 1 replyUS Health care supply uses over seas call centers. I have a problem with this because not only are they ripping off Medicare for back braces that are often put together with Gorilla Glue and Duck Tape. They charge 1200.00 for a brace that was designed by the owner with no medical training. Everyone on Medicare/Medicaid has to do their part to contain costs, this company is part of the problem. They are part of the former Oxford Diabetic, DIabetic Experts
