I received a message from a number saying her dad wanted to buy the guitar and asking me to text him on this number. Messages were not from a person, they stated things like "but I shall send you a check i shall include my movers payment" and the number also stated "you must cashed the money order successfully from YOUR bank".

Do not bother responding to this number.

Got almost the same exact message about my guitar listed on craislist from someone claiming their name is Grenchen from # (321)710-3037 and they asked me to text their dad at (585)270-0856..  Smells awful fishy.  How about you have your dad call me fool!!

I just received the same txt regarding a listing I have on CL. It stated that they had forwarded my posting to their client Miller and he was interested and to txt my final price to this number. The number I received the txt from was also (321)710-3037. Needless to say I am not responding. Though I am curious as to how the scam might work.

Funny.... heres the exact message i received last night regarding my cl post: +13217103037: Am a an engr my client Miller needs your exact tire Rims on CL i forwarded the details to him he likes it,,text him your final price on (585) 270-0856 6:06 PM    ........................ Im gonna stir the pot call them and [***] with them a little bit!   (i obviously need a hobby or something and this is gonna be rather childish but what the hell why not) i will let you all know what i find out.

Same number, (585) 270-0856 texted me after another number (914) 556-3044 texted me saying his "boss" was interested in my guitar (it was a bass and amp, didnt mention the amp at all). Then I text and the "boss" and he said he was out of town and would send me a cashier check to cash. After I cash it, his "mover" will take the remainder of the money (the cashier's check pays for my asking price plus...moving fees??) and pick up the said items...what a lousy sounding story. These Phisher's and con artists really suck at their "job".

Bottom line: It's a scam.

Lol, I got this same message today, that Is why I never reply to idiots that text like this, all so the City/state does not show, and if they do they r fare away from me, SCAM

My son had a similar experience selling his guitar.  They texted him from 585-270-0856 and said that the would send him a check and any additional money he should give to the person picking it up.   They sent him a $1,980 check for a $140 guitar.   The check was from Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. in Danvers, MA and the check was mailed by UPS in an unmarked envelope the routing number was the same as the check # big scam.  Fortunately his "alarms" went off when he received such a large check.  Some bad actors here.........
