I received a call from this number today asking to speak to my mother by name. I wasn't home but my girlfriend answered and took the message. They knew that she was 70-80 years old. My girlfriend said that it was a male and he made sound like he knew my mother personally.
I live in Jacksonville, FL. My son in Louisiana also received a call today from the same number asking for my mother by name. My mother lives in California. How they got my number in Jacksonville, and my son's number in Louisiana is a mystery, but does sound like a scam. I tried calling the number back tonight but got the usual after hours message.
I will try and call back tomorrow.

They just called me too about a "civil" case  but at my fiance's home phone number?!

Called me sister and said I gave her as a contact.  Said they are the Genesee (?) law firm.  Sounds like a bill collector.

My wife received several rude calls from these people looking for a cousin of mine I have seen maybe twice in twenty years. I am stationed at Ft Bragg, N.C., my cousin is from Boston. How do these people get us connected, and how do I stop them and their crap!

I love this guy...HA!  He calls and says he would like to speak to my husband.  I say he's not home, may I take a message?  He says , 'maybe you can help me?  I am looking for a relative of his named 'S****** C*******.   My database says he is listed as a relative of your husband.  Can you tell me how to get in touch with him?'  I say, 'no, my husband has no relatives named S****** C*******.  There are a lot of people in my state with the same name as my husband's, I have known my husband for decades, and know this to be a fact.'  He says, 'thank you for your time'.  Click.

Yes, this is a collection agency.  Our city's phone book has four pages of persons with the exact same name as my husband's.  So, they are going through the phone book and calling EVERY ONE of them, hoping to get a bite.  If someone is stupid enough to give information to an anonymous caller who is looking for a 'relative' of theirs, then they should be taken out back and shot.

And BTW, I was telling the truth.  I HAVE known my husband for decades, and no, he DOES NOT have a relative named S******* C*******.

I have been getting the same crap...they even called my husband's ex-wife and told her I was in a civil case and if I did not call back I could go to jail....I am so glad I checked these people out.  I am guilable and would have fallen for their scare tactics!
