Claims to be debt collector from payday loan that I did NOT have.  Threatening messages asking for attorney info. and saying "God Bless You and Good Luck".  Speak VERY broken english.  Gives Amercian/English name with STRONG middle-eastern accent.  ie: Officer Mark Reneiecen, Aaron Thompson, John Adams.  Threatening jail time, court fees.  Sometimes claims to be from "All American Financial" or "Federal Dept. of Justice."  Claims to "downlaod" a subpeona..arrest warrant...law suit..going to arrest me at work...meet me at courthouse.  HILARIOUS considering i actually work for the state level Justice Cabinet! Sometimes claims to be representing CashNetUSA or CashUSA.Net

A man with an  asian accent left a message stating that I or my retained attorney must call him by the end of the day,or my situation will unfold.  He stated his name was "Kevin Jackson"(ha ha---there is no WAY this guys real name was jackson), the callback number he left was 585-331-8325, however the caller id showed the number as being 916-395-0000.   I get calls like this daily, some thing to do with an alleged payday loan that i have never had. so obviously some of these websites claiming to be payday loan companies are really identity theft sites geared towards initiating false claims against consumers.

Had the first call from 760-483-3068. Claimed he was attorney Ryan John from the Dept of Federal Legislation of Consumer Affairs & Business Regulations. I called the Better Business Bureau who traced the phone number to Imperal, CA. I contacted the Imperal, CA Police Dept and spoke with Officer J. Rios who said to ignore the calls and that he would call the number and try to get it stopped.

We just received another phone call from supposed attorney Ryan John, this time from 585-331-8325. The caller said he was from the Federal Dept of Justice this time. My husband spoke to him and asked what it was regarding as "Ryan" had spouted all of my husbands credit info, ss# and home address on our answering machine. "Ryan" said that we hadn't paid a loan with CashNetUSA and had been using our own information fraudulently. I looked up our loan with CashNetUSA, which we had paid off in 2007, and it was totally paid in full as we had thought. My husband asked to talk with a superior as "Ryan" was extremely unprofessional. He then was supposedly transferred to an Officer Mark Reneiecen, who sounded exactly the same. My husband said "You sound just like the guy I was just talking to." and there was a pause and the man said "Maybe". At this point my husband asked to speak with someone else and "Michael" called him an idiot. My husband told them that the loan was paid and then the "Michael" said that he would have my husband arrested and our accounts frozen by tomorrow. My husband said bring it on and hung up.

I then called CashNetUSA and discovered that they have a full blown investigation going on and that this man is not a representative of CashNetUSA and that it is a fraudulent scam. They sent me a pamphlet on the investigation which I am pasting below:

Dear (our name and account number)

We sincerely apologize that you were contacted by a fraudulent debt collector who is in no way affiliated with CashNetUSA.  CashNetUSA is not affiliated in any way with the collectors/callers referred to throughout the complaint, and therefore encourages the consumer to contact the police.  We believe the collection practices referred to in the complaint are illegal and they in no way represent CashNetUSA.  We are always more than happy to provide evidence of a loan to our customers, and they may also sign into their online account to access such information at any time.

We are aware of this fraud and are actively investigating all cases as well as cooperating with State and Federal Authorities.  The Better Business Bureau and the Community Financial Service Association are also aware of this fraudulent debt collector activity and have issued consumer alerts.  More information regarding this alert can be accessed on the Better Business Bureau website.

For future reference, the following advice is offered to those who receive a suspicious telephone call about an outstanding debt:
Ask the debt collector to provide official documentation which substantiates the debt.
Contact the original creditor to confirm the debt and verify that it was sold to a third party.
Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the phone until you have confirmed the legitimacy of the call.
File a complaint online with the Federal Trade Commission  at http://www.ftc.gov/index.shtml  if the caller is abusive, uses threats or otherwise.

    Regards,

Hello, I have been receiving a call from this same number and another number of 916395000 which obviously is not a working number. However they call with threats everyday and I do not have a loan with these people. They say that they are lawyers obtained by CashNet. The people use the name of Eric Phillips and Justin Evans (foreigners). I have contacted CashNet and they have said that they are investigating these people for fraud. People please be aware that they have your SSN and your address. Do not give them any of your other info and contact CashNet to let them know whats going on.

this is not my first experience with these scums!!!  I was getting calls everyday for weeks.  Somehow they hacked into my account and took $400.00.  I filed a complaint and got my money back from my bank,  I have never had a payday loan.  Now after 2 months of no calls, they are calling me again.  This guys name was Chris something and had a very heavy accent..do not fall for this or do not be nice to these scumballs!!!

These calls are not from the Allison Law Group as some of the callers claim. If you go to their website you will see the scam alert is red letters. These guys have set up a couple of fake web pages themselves with the name "John Cavio" as the legal team. If you are directed to these sites do not give them any information. They are trying to get your credit card information.
