I received a call from this number, what's going on with this? who is it?

I have been experiencing calls from this number 8 times in the past month. A few times I have not picked up and they did not leave a voicemail, two times they left a voicemail and it sounded like a giant fuzzy blur like the white noise you hear from your TV. I picked up three times the first time it was some weird sounds sounded like someone yelling in some unknown dialect couldn't make it out i thought it was a prank call from those generated numbers so I hung up. The second and third time it was someone who says my car loan payment is going to expire press 4 to talk to someone about it. Ii was confused when i got that call because ironically i just got a new Honda and i was like WTF?!?!. I called my Honda dealership and they told me that they did not make the call however, many people have called in asking about such an issue and they are not sure what to tell people. Im glad to know that im not the only targeted person on this one but its really weird how whoever or whatever this is got all of our phone numbers. I noticed that lots of service providers like tmobile, sprint, verizon have gotten this phone call you can add cingular to that list as well now, we are all getting targeted regardless of who your service provider is. From reading all these posts we can conclude that they are hacking into cell phone companies databases to get phone numbers because I did not see anyone indicating that their home phone was called by this number.

that's so wierd. i got a call at 8:28pm 7/22/08. i didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. maybe it's some routing thing? like if someone calls someone else and doesn't want anyone to track it, they route it through a random number? just a paranoid guess...

Called @ 10:21am cdt. No Msg Left. Cingular.

found that was Qwest Corp
called cutomer service
and I was told that this is a random call from Qwest Corp trying to advertise their offers.

I got this call when I was in the bathroom so I couldnt pick it up and the same thing happened when i called back... I live in Puerto Rico how the fu** did they get my number? At first I thought maybe it was a university cause im applying for some but i found this and its creepy.

What the hell is this number? I got a call from them today on an unregistered line that's on no one's list!

yes very strange indeed...just got pinged by this number about 1 hr ago. Not usre what its all about..also no VM message left. Must be some bug.....

Same thing, called my phone 7/22/08 at 12:02 PM.   No message left, not calling them back

I got the call about 1 hour ago...I did not answer...About a week ago I put an ad on Craigslist...I was hit with a scammer...I had give home and cell phone number before I realized what was going on...I thought it was him...but seems I am being hit with another issue.  I have AT&T for cell phone.

Called @ 10:25 am cdt.  No msg left.

Called my cell around noon cst today. I didn't answer. No message. Area code is from Phoenix.
