Who or what is it?

Receive daily calls since 18 July 2008.  Return call without success from cell phone.  Land line busy signal.

Received a call from this number for the last two weeks.
No one on the line.  Return call busy.

Just got a call a minute ago and have been receiving daily since June 25.  I answered and it seems I could hear the phone hang up.  What's up?

In my case, this was a call to schedule an appointment for a phone interview for Long Term Care Insurance which I applied for.

This would probably be a similar call for other types of applications which YOU initiated. They are trying to contact you to schedule the interview. You should take the call, or call back if they left a message.

rings and no one is there;  it disconnects a second later

want to know who it is, and would like them to stop

If the call was truly legitimate business call, all the caller has to do is be courteous enough to let the phone ring long enough to let us pick up the call, or leave a voice message so we could call back if we are interested in their product, and not have their line be busy forever when we tried to call back.

Received 8 calls from this number in the past 2 days.  Rings once and then hangs up.  I tried sending a fax to this number machine gets a busy signal.  Interestingly, as mentioned above, I too have applied for Long Term Care Insurance, but have not spoken to anyone...yet

I'm getting the same thing as Bruce and I did just apply for long term care.  No way to answer the call that quickly and they don't leave a message.

Several calls in last two weeks. No one there when answering after 2-3 rings
