This number keeps calling me and I have nothing to do with any of that loan crap. I never answer the phone though but they won't stop calling. I decided to look it up and found it on here.

The guy that called from this number identified himself as Daniel Lawrence said he could be reached at 888-241-8262ext7563.  Stated he was with Windham Properties and looking for a person I knew in regard to a business matter. They collect student loans.....

I have been receiving calls from these people for several months. The hitch in my case is that they are trying to reach a person that obviously had my telephone number before me. They ask for this person by name and we tell them they have the wrong number and the number they called does not belong to that person. It appears that they are trying to collect an old debt and they have an old number. Imagine, people that don't pay their debts changing their phone number...go figure. I just happened to get one of those phone numbers and the harassment along with it. They have been told repeatedly to stop calling my number without success. I have now had a courtesy trace put on my phone line by the phone company and I have sent them a cease and desist e-mail. Next step, if they keep calling, is to send a certified cease and desist letter to them and force the issue with legal action through my phone company's call records. It also appears that they have several call centers and the information given to them does not always get disseminated across the organization. In that case, you would have to tell each and every caller that you don't want them to call you anymore. That is essentially impossible if it is a company with many calling reps. The funniest thing about it is that if they were to do a Google reverse lookup on my number, they would quickly find that it does not belong to the person they are trying to reach. Power and intelligence do not necessarily go hand-in-hand.

The following number continues to harass me:  603-890-4034.  I have asked them to quit calling me and they refuse to do so.  They always act as though it is a very important and urgent matter.  It is so ridiculous. I am assuming it is another scam.  As my phone number is on the do not call list, I plan to report them.  Hopefully, if enough people report their harassment they will be shut down.

Windham Professionals is a collection agency used by schools for the collection of student loans. If you don't owe any money they shouldn't be calling you and you can verbally order them to stop or write  a letter.  Overall they are good people to work with if you do owe, I've delt with far warse collection companies used by the Department of Education (collecta corp out of arizona -completely rude and talk down to you).  Windham, -polite, helpful and professional.  I believe their call centers are in New Hampshire and the mid-west maybe Ohio or something.

"Mike", who refused to give his last name, called our main business phone number (at the recetionist's desk).  Said he was processing an "administrative wage garnishment order" against an employee.  I asked for the employee's name and he refused to give it (no problem).  Our HR people were at lunch, so I asked for a phone number where he could be reached so I could give them a message.  He refused to give me a phone number and said he'd call back later.  They must not be to anxious to collect whatever money they think they're owed.

Loads of calls going on like that. Collection agencies calling people who are unrelated or don't even own a debt. If you have nothing to do with the loans they could be calling for any of these reasons:
If they are calling for someone else and if you are listed as one of the reference.
Name/identity theft i.e mistaking you for someone else.
If someone else who owed a debt had your number previously.
    etc.,
You can directly ask them to remove your number from their lists(that sometimes doesn't work)We are talking about Windham here and they don't let go, very rude and obnoxious. So, get a clearer view of the FDCPA.You (or anybody else) have your rights are are very well protected. http://www.yourcollectionrights.com/  You can keep a list of the calls, record them.Tell them you are recording them and if they consent to it fine, if they don't agree to being recorded, they've got to hang up. There's another way-a cease and desist letter(if the calls never ever stop).Request a return receipt and send it via certified mail.No personal information should be given out. Knowing your rights will help you out better than out think..

Here is some information you might find helpful-someone who wrote in to whocallsme compiled everything they could find about these debt collectors, as well as how the government handles complaints about them, what your rights are and how to defend yourself, and put it all in one post. It can be found under 8043185476 (”Scam”, 23 Dec 11).
Also, would you like a call-blocker? I can show you how to find one for free or very little money, depending on whether they are calling you on your cellphone or landline. See my post on whocallsme under 3059182338.

the phone number is for windham professionals, not wilmington.
colleges do not send over debts just because they have nothing to do, you went to school, you know you have tuition and loans to pay for, you owe it, simple as that, the college you went to sent you three bills obviously when a person, doesnt open their mail or ignores bills after a while they will be sent to collection.
if you answer you cant pay when they call you, they will call you back again they have the right to call you up to three times a day.please do not quote the fdcpa, as someone who knows the laws please.

so tell me, unless its a phone number that someone used to have, thats fine, but why would a collections agency call someone that they already have that info in front of us?hm?

loans, cannot and will not removed, they cannot be wished away.

arent there any responsible people in this world?
