Didn't pick up either - "name Unknown".  sick of these people, of you can call them "people".

Got a call from that number. They did not leave a message.

The past six years, I've all of a sudden been bombarded by these phone calls.  Has this administration changed the law about who can make these calls?  It just seems like I never got them before then, or rarely, as I had registered with the Do Not Call Registry.   Now it's a daily occurrence.  The only thing I can figure is there must be some lobby that contributed to political campaigns, and the law has been changed.  What else could explain this?

This number 607-264-2860 is an old scam, couple of idiots at a kitchen table in a garage. in the Binghamtom, Elimia, Bath New York Area. The 855-812 2738 can be anywhere. Their treats are meaningless, accept for a few people who scare easy and stupidly make contact. They have been reported to the Oswego County Sheriff's Office, and the local police, I suggest you do the same. The name of the company is Potter & Scott at that number. If found they will be hand cuffs and dragged off for reporting themselves as Police Officers, or connected with the Sheriff's department or an officer of the court, aside from the scam charges to illgally collect a debt, most likey an old one they found diving into dumpsters, is where they belong. Don't bother calling them or trying to talk to them, they are far from human. They will curse at you, de, ignorant small time crooks and abuses, use foul filthy language when questioned, along with the treats. Dont bother answering, and don't watch out the window, the cops arent coming, accept maybe for the scum scammers that they are..

Please put me on the do-not-call list.

What do you expect?  It's a Government operation.  Spend the taxpayers money, and accomplish nothing!

Yes, the law has changed.  Now it is illegal to call you unless you give written permission or you have an on-going relationship with the company.  These people are now breaking the law.

Phoned and leave no msg or looking to settle a debt...want Michael or Michelle etc.

I am sick of this number calling and not leaving a message.  The calls come at the worst time of the day.  ID said New York Call.  I never answer if I don't recognize the number.  Too many scams going on and if I don't answer I can't get caught doing something stupid like answering their questions, etc.

Who is calling?

This number continuously calls my ailing mothers phone number, asking for me.  I have no idea who they are or what they want, and when I call back I get a strange voice message "the person you are trying to call is not available"....I do t care who it is, please get them to stop calling!!!

4 calls from them in less than a half hour. WTF !!  I just had a phone installed at the house and no one has my phone number yet. Random calls or are they looking for the person who had the phone number before me.

I have received 2 calls from the same number today.  The calls actually go to my fax machine though so they will never get a live person.  It also said from Cherry, NY.  I assumed it was a scam or telemarketing.  I am on the national do not call registry as well and my number is non published.  I can only assume that the person who owned my number before was listed.  Anyway, it is quite annoying that they keep calling my fax machine but as long as I don't have to speak to them it's ok.  

Message says because I made my payments on time they are offering me a lower monthly payment, etc., just press "1."  I don't have any monthly payments!

You can report these calls at http://www.donotcall.gov but it probably won't do any good.  The Do Not Call List is for legitimate telemarketers to use so they know who not to call and it works pretty good.  Scammers and others in foreign countries don't subscribe to the list and don't care anyway.  They likely use a robo-dialer that dials numbers in sequence.  That's why most of the time there's nobody there when you answer.  The number that shows up on your caller ID is probably not a real number.  There are two things you can do: (1.) Don't answer if your caller ID displays a number or location you don't recognize.  (2.) Spend a few bucks and get a call blocker for your phone line, or use your phone service provider's call blocker.

If you answer or try to call back, they know they've hit a valid number and they won't leave you alone, plus they will sell a list of all the numbers they believe to be valid to other scammers.

I just received this call this morning. I just changed my number a couple of days ago, being sick of all the telemarketers calls. I also put my new number on the "Do Not Call List," yet, here I am again, getting a bogus call from this person(s). If anyone knows the name of the company, please let me know, so I can report it on the FCC site.

I didn't bother to answer the call, it didn't show up on my caller ID, but I have Cox, who keeps tracks of all my callers. I found the number there. Since I didn't answer, I am hoping they will never call again, but I sincerely doubt it and now am afraid they will sell my number to others, again!
