I got a text from this number saying "hey cutie?" And when I asked who it was they didn't reply

This number is used by an app that lets you text people anonymously.  They advertise the app as a way to safely text people on craigslist, or somewhere that you don't want to give out your real number, but it really gets used by people who want to prank/creep on other people.  The name of the app is Mustache Private Texting

my son received a very threatening text from this no...how can we find out where it originated from

Got a text from this number saying "Respectapeople who find time for you in their busy schedule. But love people who never look at their schedule when you need them. " They mistyped the beginning part of the text, and when I received the text I asked who it was and the reply was "a random who has witnessed your mistreatment of people you call friends." They also mentioned that people in the area talk and less people are going to be willing to spend time with me if I can't respect the people who tried to be nice to me. I sent a reply and they didn't reply back after that, came off as very ambiguous, at first my thought it was a fake number but I think Jim is right, an app that hides the number makes sense. They made some references in my case that only someone who actually knows me and has my number would know about, rather than just some random person who saw me with friends.

Got a text that said "hey girl" responsed asking "who is this?" And got no response.

Someone is texting my family from this number they know a lot about me and them , idk who it is. They are acting like its me texting them and somehow the number tracks to my phone ?! It's not me so I have no idea how this is happening !!
