- BOCA| 1 replyCaller is non stop calling me and harressing me. Threatening me to pay for the product I ordered or I will go to jail. The police will be at my door and they will put me behind bars if I do not give them all my information, including my Bank Acct, Address, and SS#. The funny and off thing is.... I NEVER ORDER ANYTHING from these people and I have zero clue what they are talking about! For the past 2 weeks I have been getting over 50 phone calls from them everyday. PLEASE someone help me!!!
- lily| 3 repliesthis number just called and said I had a virus on my computer and wanted me to go to my computer and do what she said, well I said no thank you because I know she wanted me to help her gain access to my computer and then she would have control over my passwords and banking info. Beware they are calling telling you your computer has a virus and can help you fix it. No thank you, I will fix it myself if I do which I don't, I ran a virus scan.

- Sue replies to lily| 2 repliesI just got called by this number. Caller had an accent, so hard to understand so I told them to email me. Knew it was a scam. This person who could not speak English, French or Spanish calling us in Canada & USA , said she was calling from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and was an employee from Microsoft. Not able to understand her broken English, I switched to French (fluent in both). No dice; so tried my very simple Spanish. She said "no understand". Of course it is a scam. I only understood this: "your Internet provider not secure has virus". Told her I'll call my Internet provider and said to her at this point, if you do work at Microsoft, I'm registered there. You already have my email address so send me an email. She hung up.

Sue in Montreal, Qc, Canada - Hal| 1 replySomeone named "Sam Rogers" (he didn't sound like someone who would have that Anglo name) called me from this number today and said he was from Microsoft. I asked where he was located and he said "Washington Seattle" - the area code is actually New York. He wanted to help me correct my problems with computer viruses "they" had detected over the past two weeks. I could hear others making calls in the background. Anyway, knowing it was a scam, I went along with him as long as I could without actually doing the computer commands; recording the call. He would ask me what I saw on the screen and I asked what I was looking for. Finlay he realized I was not following his instructions and said to me that he had been "nice" to me and that he was "only trying to help." I told him I knew it was a scam and that I hoped he could find a better way of making a living. As was mentioned in other posts on this site, it's good to report these to the anti-fraud centre.
- Caller: NOT Microsoft
- bella replies to HalHas been happing to me as well for a few months now. they call at least 2-3 times a week. Even after telling them to stop calling!
- Jazz replies to BOCAThere's a blocking system you can use for your phone at home. Also, report them to phone busters. Google it. They are scammers and need to be reported. They just called me as well. Totally different thing..... Trying to get info about my computer. Just hang up.
- NitehawkThese people called my MagicJack number while I was away and my wife was there alone. Fortunately, she called me about it while he was on the other line and trying to get into my computer. He told he we had a virus and our computer was going to crash any day. My wife is not computer savvy and this a**hole was scaring her. She was almost hysterical since we rely on our computer and magicjack for our telephone at our vacation home. I told her to let me speak with this guy and she switched over. I spoke with him and he said we had a virus and he had been monitoring my computer and he needed to get in and fix this. I asked what company he was with and he said he was Microsoft certified but would not give me a company name. Finally after I asked 5 times he said Nerds4Computers. Never heard of them. He said I was a customer of theirs. I told my wife, who was on the other line to just turn off the computer and disconnect his call. If I find who he is, Lord help him. No one scares my wife and goes away unscathed.....no one.
- MitchelThis is been going on for 2 weeks now. first it was a lawsuit out of OH and now it's a lawsuit out of FL. They guy wont stop calling me. I even tell him about the fair debt collection act of 1996 that I can't get phone calls at work and they still call so I know this is not a true collector. He will call back 3 to 4 times in a row and they try differnt numbers.

- BJust received a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft calling about Windows. Since the caller spoke with a heavy accent (South Asia is my guess), I asked him to repeat what he said; he immediately hung up. Was a good bit of background noise.
- PhilMy mom recieved a call today from this person. He said he was from microsoft and was going to help clear up problems 2122 of them from her new computer (Windows 8). She followed instructions to allow him on her computer to show her the errors. While there he disabled her login and eliminated the safe recover mode and I suspect the any recover routine.
He wanted a CC for purchase of an Anti-Virus program he was selling. She said she was not interested and that is when he told her that he had disabled her computer and it could not be enabled by anyone but him.
My reseach showed that he had indeed disabled her login, and eliminated the admin account and who knows what. Talked to somone who works for a computer store and they said that they could not reenable the login because their corporate office would not let them do that. So I guess maybe in worst case will have to repurchase Windows 8 and reload to repair the system at a cost of 200-300.00.
I think we need to organize a computer nerd group and finance them to go after these people (I know goverment could care less). Someone has to declare war on these people otherwise it is just going to get worse and who knows which of your family members will be next and what the results may be????- Caller: IBM
- Joe BlowThis number is a scam run by people who have English is their fourth language. Too ignorant to be able to speak the call back number which is something like 702-224-2331. Do NOT call them back and report these A holes
- Caller: Who knows, they don't even know how to say the name
- meme1275I received a call 607-397-8255 from a man with a strong Middle Eastern accent stating there's a problem with my windows operating system. He then asks if I am in front of my computer, so he can take control and fix the problem. Does he think I'm and idiot?! I've told him both times they've called that if I have a problem I would call Microsoft.
- Caller: Supposedly Microsoft
- mariaCHannah from the "windows operation center" said I have a problem with my computer. when I laughed and told her that I didn't she got very argumentative and said I needed to allow her to help me fix it because it was showing up on their system. HAHA. I hung up.
