Got this call and the caller was, it seems, a Pakistani or East Indian who told me he was calling as a representative of "Windows" and I had a virus in my computer.

In order to delete the "virus" he told me to go to my home page, then to the line that shows "http
and type what he told me.......I told him I was NOT born yesterday and to try someone else. Hung up.

If you get a call from this number ignore it! SCAM!!!!!

Yes.. I just got off the phone witthe guy.  I said hey is this the Windows scam?  What do you want? He replied"To scam you".  I hung up.  What an idiot!

this guy called our house today and asked my girlfriend if she had a computer because they could see a lot of virus' have been downloaded recently. when she hung up he called back from a different phone number and asked why she hug up, then after hanging up again, he called back from a third number which got ignored.
he called from 1(618)462-8724, 1(607)5628977 and then 1(607)734-9187

Same type of thing, caller said my "computer was reporting lots of errors". When I questioned him on his company he said 2 or 3 bogus company names and then hung up. Don't give these crooks ANY information or believe them for a second!!

Got the same call you guys got. I reprorted it to microsoft and the California State attorney Generals Office. They said they have gotten alot of these complaints.

I got this phone call from this guy and he said that he was calling because I apply for a government grant and so I was aproved for $12,000.00 to start my small business.  He said that all I would need is a payment of $3.87 and within 7-10 business days I would get my money in the mail.  I told to call me back on monday because I didn't have my credit card with me.  When I told him that he sound like he was very upset cuz I did't give the money or my information he was looking for so if you see this number 607-562-8977 please report them.  I don't remember the company name but if he calls me again I let  you know later.

Got a call from this number at 7.45pm. The foreign caller claimed to be calling about my windows computer.  I said I didn't have one and he hung up.

I'm Portuguese and I also received this call!! look how far it just got. right after the call I maid my search and I found this chat, thanks for helping me.

I just got the same call and I told him I couldn't access my computer right now and to give me his number and I would call him back..he hung up

I live in Norway - Someone called me twice today - the second time from this number.

I have a Swedish nr and he called me 3 times in a row at 3:30 am that i ignored, I answered on the 4th attempt thinking that it probably was urgent. And he started talking about my computer id being hacked. Told him not to call at such an inappropriate time and hung up!

I just got 2 calls from this number.. ignored the first and found this page. Second call I answered and this person tried to tell me about viruses on my computer. I started laughing and they hung up... worked well!

Amazing, same number, same scam for more than a year!  I am guessing they fake the caller ID.

I just had the guy on the phone just ignored it and google that number, best thing too do....

Got a call this morning, told them to f**koff, must have hit a nerve with the guy because he has phoned back 4 times now.I just hang up when I see the #.

Got a call at 12:11 p.m. telling me that he was from Microsoft and I had a problem with my computer.
I told him to f--- off and would be ready to punch him in the nose if he called again.  He probably will.
I am in Canada--don't know how he got my number.

Have been bothered by this person before.  He has called at a decent time this time.
Indicated that I have a problem with my computer.  Scam!  I was not polite in my
comments to him.

I just had a call from this number...he didn't ask about my computer but to [***] about me not shoveling my sidewalk and that he almost slipped and fell...weird...

They called today at  10:29am ET and left an ominous message. It was delivered in an Indian/Middle Eastern accent, so a little hard to believe that they are from the FBI or US agency, not to mention the American sounding name.  Here is what was said: "My name is Agent John Anderson and my hotline to my division is 202-506-9044, I repeat 202-506-9044.  Now, if you don't return the call or I don't hear from your attorney either, then be prepared to face the legal consequences.  Goodbye and take care."

They are  now calling Belgium... already 3 times in a week on my phone number :-).
Same dialog... calling from windows, or from microsoft...
wanting to help me to remove an infected file from my computer...
i played a little bit with him, just to make him lose time :-) they are english speaking with Indian accent, but i answered in french to see how far he will go ... at least, he tried to get me for 5 minutes... then hang up.
