So I recieved a call from this number they specifically asked for me by name and then hung up when I asked who was calling. I decided to look it up just because it was rather strange and from an area code I've never heard of. I ran across another blogger's post who said it was Fidelity Investments located in Binghamton New York and they are just scamming people. I have NO idea how they got my name and number consider I live about 12 hours from that area code. Hope this helps my suggestion would be to block the number.

Keep calling me saying that I owe money to Cashtransfer and I should go to walmart and a money card and then give them a call and do not open the packaged.

I got a call from this number trying to tell me that my computer had received a virus and their technical server had sent an error to Windows.  The line was very fuzzy and whenever I said I didn't understand or asked a question he just repeated his information.  I thought he was going to ask me for money to get rid of the virus and when I asked him he tried to sound hurt.  I didn't wait to see what it really was he wanted from me, presumably a password.

I live in Canada but would be interested in finding the outcome of this, how do I follow it?

I ask these poeple not to call me any more but they  call me every week for the last 8 weeks

I received a call that rang twice, and I picked it up.   Nobody there.   I called the number back, and they have a recording that says the number is not in service.

My daughter has received similar calls however stating that she is on an unsecured wireless network at home. This is not the case and I simply advised her to hang up the next time they attempt to call.

I live in Canada and just got this phone # calling me, the guy asked for me by name and said you are the prime user on your computer. I told him I wasn't going to tell him who was the prime user and he kept saying "Why not". I hung up on him as I knew it was a scam. How do they get our phone #s?

I just got a call from this number and i live in Denmark in Europe!! I did not take the call so i do not know what the caller wanted. Here in Denmark the medias warn about scam calls frequently. So bottomline is - dont take the call if you dont recognise the number, because just answering the call or calling back can cost you money!

I got call from this number on my cell when I responded, nobody talked and I hung up. I tried to call back and it said the no doesn't exist. Next minute, I got call from another no..718-822-9084, same happened, no one responded. Looks like scam!

I just got a call saying that I was Hillory clinton and the wanted to speak to the president, then proceeded to ask to speak to bill clinton, after i told them that they were not there, he asked to speak to my doctor.  Finally he said i was an imposter and then hung up on me.

Ive been getting calls from this number and many more like it, all coming from different places in the USA. I live in canada and have no business or friends/family in the states. whenever i answer its usually just silence but sometimes someone says something incoherent before they hang up. if it is a scam they really suck at it because they havent even managed to say "hello" let alone attempt to sell me anything.

I received a call at 11pm tonight telling me that they were from Microsoft Windows and that there is spyware on my computer. She kept saying that I need to turn on my pc right now, even though I kept saying that it is very late at night when people sleep and I am not turning on a computer.  I finally just gave up. There was definitely a language barrier

I got a call on my mobile - I'm in the UK but she had an American accent.    She asked for me by name and I told her she was disturbing me - she apologised and the line went quiet...

Received a call from someone at this number with a very foreign sounding voice- Indian or Pakistani sounding. They asked for me by name, and then when I answered it was me, they hung up.

Oh my god exactly same things happen to me can anybody tell me am I exposed or vulnerable when my computer is concerned

My computer window is having virus and melacious activity and very forgein sound like Indian or Chinese and I said that I will report to FBI and hung up on them.

my caller ID came up as "pay phone". I didn't recognize the area code so didn't answer. They hung up and I Googled the number and found this! Thanks for all the posts. Looks like they have been scamming for years.

They called us today, and the caller ID just said New York and the number. DAMN annoying as we do have relatives in the area. They didn't leave a message.

Today I'd received a call from that number. The female voice had mentioned that she's working for microsoft and that my pc would have been infected by a bad, bad virus. Just to put the test on her I asked which windows version my pc is running actually. As she sounded vague I told her, that she's not "a figure of authority"... and she hung up.
