Caller pretends to be from "Microsoft" saying my computer is reporting errors. Laughably fraudulent. Microsoft NEVER calls anyone for ANY reason. All they want is to gain access to my computer to cause problems and force me to buy their miracle software to fix it for hundreds of dollars. Do not fall victim to this scam!

Just got a call from this number from somebody with a heavy Indian/Pakistani accent (in my non-expert opinion) claiming "they" were recieving errors from my Microsoft Windows computer and wanted to help me fix the problems.  When I suggested they had the wrong number, they presented my correct first and last name.  I hung up.  The Caller ID showed "PAYPHONE."

Same here I just got off the phone from him number came up as 607 735 0885 too - does he really think people are that gullible, he told me to go to my computer as windows was reporting a problem, I asked which computer as we have a few, he said any of them - seems weird as we only have macs in the house -

the sad thing is that some people may fall for it. Anyway I told him I thought he had the wrong number and then he said, "never mind mam - Love you! bye" ? What???

Got a call from this 'person' last evening saying the site was not safe.  When I challenged him saying I am on the do not call list he insisted he wasn't trying to sell me anything.  I told him I don't care, I am on the do not call list and he is breaking CRTC regulations regarding that...then I hung up!!

The number (607) 735-0885 calls to homes in Canada and someone pretends to be part of XXXX company (I didn't understand the name of the company but it ends by Services) and say it's about your request for support on your computer.  I answered that my computer is OK and that I made no call for service on my computer.  This is a hook.  Hang up immediately.  That's what I did.

I answered to say "don't call back; put us on the list." This jack wagon with the Indian accent so thick I could hardly understand began ARGUING with me and TALKING/YELLING over me as I kept repeating to him "no thanks" and "hang up please" and "we don't want any". They mentioned not telemarketer and something about $20 and charity group (again, thick accent!). Totally PO'd to be yelled at on my own phone in my home from this moron. HARRASSMENT!!!!

got same caller tonight. I was suspicious from get go. I asked questions like which o.s. are you calling about. Would not answer. Had me check my event log for errors and warnings and said that was indication of a virus. LOL. I knew right then they were full of $***. They wanted to connect to my computer. I asked what they were wearing. They hung up ;)

Well this is so weird... I got a Peruvian cellphone because I'm in South America and this number called me yesterday. I didn't answer anyway! WEIRD!

Call to my partner's old number. Not taken as I was busy with work. Will be blocked now I know what this is - I did suspect it anyway.

Heavy central Asian accent that is barely understandable. Claims to be from Microsoft. Obviously False when I asked for his credentials, e-mail and call back number and he wouldn't provide. He stated that errors and virus was being logged to my Windows PC IP address. I asked what the IP and DNS is that the problems stem from. Gave some false IP and DNS address jibberish, while I had the info on the screen of my Ubuntu powered machine. Told him the PC is running Unbuntu 13.10, has a diffferent IP and DNS and I was told that was not possible. He got quite indignant and hung up when I stated he was a liar / scam artist and started laughing at him.

Definitely malicious.  Said he was from Microsoft and I had a computer that was reporting problems.  Asked me to close all the windows and perform the run command.. At that point, I told him to give me his extension and I would call Microsoft's 800 number to make sure everything was legit.  He said F U.. and hung up.   Nice!!  don't fall for this scam.

i got a call from this number, but they say nothing. I am in the Netherlands!!!

called cell phone. No message. A call to this number gets one of the SIT tones and the message "The number you dialed is not in service,"

*SPAMMER* added to my block list now.

the call from this number was automated claiming to be from the IRS and in a very threatening voice I should call a certain number back to straighten a certain IRS problem back or face the punishment

Got a call from this same number. I thought it strange, since we have not had pay phones for a long time. Good to learn who was trying to call. So sick of these idiots trying to take advantage of people.

I don't think the Do Not Call list has made it to India😉

Dear Trusting Canadians,
The CRTC sells the Do Not Call List.  It costs $50 for 600,000 phone numbers. (See online CBC article). My calls have gone up since I've registered.  I no longer answer calls if I don't know who they are ( they'll leave a message if needed and the scammers never leave a message).  If I receive an unknown caller I get their number from call display and google it. It often comes up on a site like this.  I then block them on my phone.  
Thanks to all who report to this site. I've found it helpful in identifying scammers to block.

They claim they are with the IRS and filling a law suit against you.  The best advice is not to answer the call and wait for them to leave a message. You can then check your message to find out what BS they are up to....They are trying to bait you to call....Believe me they are not the IRS.....
